Somewhere over the rainbow, each Wiggles' dream of being a rock star, an artist, a football player (with the New England Patriots!) and a conductor will come true. But getting there is all the fun. By Big Red Car, hot air balloon, and pirate ship, the Wiggles and their friends, costumed characters Captain Feathersword, Dorothy the dinosaur, Henry the octopus and Wags the dog, find ample opportunities to sing, dance, make new friends and indulge in creative play no matter what the weather. You've got to hand it to Murray, Jeff, Anthony and Greg; they certainly give fans their wiggles-worth. This generous 90-mins. (including extra features) DVD contains 23 engagingly interactive musical numbers. What is commendable about the Wiggles repertoire is that it isn't the same-old, same-old. The quartet performs mostly original ditties that offer non-Aussies a taste of other cultures. Providing authentic local color are the King of the Road (Australian cabaret singer Kamahl), who punctuates his sentences with an Elvis-like, "Uh-huh," and Australian country music legend, Smoky Dawson. The songs are by turns silly ("Here Comes the Chicken" and sweet "Music Box Dancer." Familiar tunes include "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and "The Wheels on the Bus." Throughout are subtle reinforcements of such basic concepts as the benefits of nutrition and exercise. In Wiggles-speak, it's a "beauty, mate."
