Overview

The X-Files: Fight The Future was the first cinematic foray for Chris Carter's television series The X-Files. This DVD edition presents the movie in a high-quality 2.35:1 widescreen transfer and house-shaking Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound. The image quality is excellent throughout the disc's running time; colors are bold and creepy as necessary, as icy terrains, cityscapes, and dark interiors translate equally well to the digital format. Explosions and attacking creatures crackle and bounce between the Surround channels, providing full immersion into the world of Mulder and Scully. Supplemental materials give good background into the television series, the making of the movie, and, of course, the special effects. "The Truth Behind the Making of the X-Files Movie" is nearly a half-hour of glossy interviews and behind-the-scenes footage with cast and crew; it's a must-see for fans of the series. The movie-length audio commentary with Chris Carter and director Rob Bowman is informative but best for diehard fans, as there's a great deal of inside information about characters and plot lines from the television series that newcomers may not understand or care about. Three variations on the theatrical trailer are also included for completists. "Scene Selection" allows access to the DVD's 18 chapters, and cast and crew bios are included in the flimsy booklet inside the DVD's case, though not on the DVD itself. It's a bit of a mystery why the box art claims "extra footage" as one of the bonus features; if there's any included, it's well-hidden as an Easter egg. Otherwise, fans and newcomers alike should find much to like with the overall package.

I am HUGE fan of The X Files. The first episode played when I was like 6. I didn't start watching it until I was in middle school. Me, my older sister and my dad started renting old episodes and watching the new ones every Sunday night. I was obsessed with it. Then, after the shows end in 2002- I was over it. But now that I just got the DVD set, I am in love with it all over again. My little brother watches the reruns with me every night in order. The movie that they made based on the show is outstanding! I love it! I have the VHS and just ordered the DVD. I know every word to the movie and cant watch it enough. One of my favorite scenes is the famous "hallway scene" I love the tense emotion that is shown between the 2 characters. I give this movie 2 thumbs up!! (And I give David Duchovny 3)I cant wait for the sequel!!!!

I used to watch The X-Files when I was like six or younger!I used to watch them with my dad.And just a few days ago me and my dad rented a few shows from the first or second season, and now I am totally nuts about them again!Me and my sister(she's 12,she was 2 when I was 6,she would pretend to orcastrate the theme music,)have this big crush on Mulder.Great, isn't it? I would always hope Mulder would make a move on Scully when I was little.Gosh, why didn't he?It would've been great! I believe he does in the movie, right?

To tell the truth, the 6th and 7th season made me fall in love with this series, hands down. I was so bummed that just one season is like $100. Imagine how I felt upon finding this movie in my basement. I can nearly quote the entire movie now. Definitely ranking in my top 3! Cheap, but so worth it.

What better way to describe the X Files movie and tv show than to call it absolutly incredible. Words simply cannot explain the power and devotion between the two characters Mulder and Scully. I myself am a Die hard fan of the show so I may be a little biased but I found the movie to be outstanding. The acting is incredible, the directing emmy worthy, and the effects are "out of this world". I was stunned by the plot change of the movie campared to what had been going on for the past five season. My only worry before watching it is that people who had not seen the show before would be utterly confused. However this was not the case, Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz did such a good job with the writing that even I was understading the tv shows plot better than before. If I could I would give this movie 4 thumbs up! My only issue with the movie is that it had to end.
