A myopic attempt at marketing feminism in Hollywood showing all men as either stupid, psychotic, or deceptive, and women as their frustrated victims literally pushed over the edge. Even if such a theme was not the feminist propaganda that it is, it seeks to glorify its female heroines with characters of such idiocy that they don't evoke the slightest sympathy. Why should one have a soft heart for a pair of female low-lifes who are victims of nothing more than their own stupidity? With backward logic, the heroines choose to become fugitives from a homicide that any average person would clearly regard as self-defense. The characters then compound their problem by becoming armed robbers and fugitives?! The emotion stirred in me by the 'tragic' ending was more the relief of, 'Good! That's what all criminals should do before they commit a crime: especially stupid ones!' Perhaps amusing to the bored housewife-type or deluded militant feminist but not my cup of tea. Worth renting perhaps: hardly worth owning this overhyped junk film.

I had two cats that I named Thelma & Louise and eventually had to give them to my mom because my husband became very allergic. My brother rented and watched this movie with her and she loved it. She liked it so much she asked me that if I saw it to buy it for her...so that's just what I did and so this was part of her Mother's Day gift. Thanks

I can't stress enough how hot Geena Davis is. She had a really good role in this movie of friendship and love. It's amazing how far a true friend will go for you. Although I think this movie was a little drawn out, it was well worth it by the end. The chemistry between Davis & Sarandon was excellent. This is a touching movie in a dark way. I'm glad that Pitt only had a very small part in this movie.

Susan Sarandon and Gina Davis give a well done and convincing performance about two woman who run into severe issues with the law after one of them is sexually assaulted and a self-defense kill is done by the other one. It's a great, fun movie which portrays a lot of courage and amazing friendship traits between the two woman. You'll laugh a lot and at the same time realize just how valuable a friendship can be.

This film is a very strong film and a way of showing feminine power without creating an annoying girl band.
