I also stumbled upon the PBS Great Performances episode (I love PBS!). I love hearing classically trained vocalists sing gospel, blues, and even pop music (i.e. Love Train etc.). The audience was clearly having a wonderful time, and I was so jealous of them! I wish these guys would tour!!
Thus far, I have seen them live twice and have plans to see two more performances in February! Of course, I have their DVD, Video, CD, and as many of Thomas Young's CD's as I can get my hands on! I saw them first on PBS, and it was love at first sight!!! I have never seen anything that can compare to these gentlemen! All three of them have beautiful voices and can perform a great variety of music perfectly! Once you see them, you will fall in love forever!!! When I start feeling kind of blue, I pop the DVD in; and it really cheers me up! When you see a live performance, you will come out of the theater feeling on top of the world and happy to have had the opportunity to have seen three such talented, charismatic, and beautiful people! They are truly amazing!!!
I am watching this for the second time this evening. on PBS This is one of the most incredible musical perfomances that I have ever seen. I will be one of the purchasers when it it is released on the 25th. I will also be one of the first ticket purchasers. for the Meyerhoff perfomance in Baltimore!!!
I have never been totally enthralled in my life. I watched this entire show standing up in my living room. You cant just sit down to watch these Men. They moved my soul to tears, I laughed, I cried, I sang, I danced. . . . just totally awesome!!!
In all my years of enjoying live and taped performances of most genres, I have never been priviledged until Three Mo' to enjoy such artistic glory on a single stage!! Even my young children, while ages 4-7 the first time they saw Three Mo' Tenors, were fascinated beyond any other musical entertainment they've ever seen. What a gift this musical is to even the 'non- musical' lover!
I just happened upon this PBS broadcast while surfing one Sunday...and I was undone! I'd never even heard of these guys...! They are fabulous. I've ordered the CD for myself and friends, and I'm waiting anxiously for the video release!
I caught the PBS performance of these guys recently and I was totally blown away with the talent of these three guys. The range and breadth of their collective skills is truly extraordinary and not to be missed!
About 2 months ago I saw this trio perform live in Greensboro, NC. The show was a fund raiser sponsored by the Black Lawyers Association, raising money for a renoun woman's college. In my mind the show ranked among three of the top performances that I have had the immense pleasure of witnessing. The show had it all, the choreography was just enough, these three artists with an unbelievable display of musical talent and vocal ranges had the audience spellbound. I have an old album entitled Jackie Wilson Sings The World's Greatest Melodies, I didn't know it was possible for a man to have a vocal range as high as Jackie Wilson, until now. What's even more amazing is to find three men of this caliber on one stage, in the same show and each uniquely talented as the other. I have their CD which I play ad nauseam. I was made a present of their DVD, I can't stop watching, it's a live performance filmed in New York. The versatility, the gamut of their musical artistry and talent simply transcends.
This is a fantastic video. They will be in my State in March 2002, Tickets ordered, can't wait to be a part of this adventure. I have the VHS & DVD versions.
The movie was amazing! I absolutely loved it. Theses singers are awesome on the DVD and CD. I just love how Rodrick Dixon and Thomas Young sing and also how Victor Trent Cook sang so high in "O'Accesso Di Piagarmi." It was amazing! I recommend it.
The best entertainment I have seen in an entire decade. The professionalism and range of repertoire were amazing. Even my kids loved it. Buy it. NOW!
It was the summer of 2001, and I had nothing better to do at the moment than channel surf, when I stumbled across the commercial that would transform my life. The advertisement announced a PBS special featuring a trio of men -- Three Mo' Tenors. Surely, I had heard of Pavarotti, Domingo and Carerras, but these guys were different because they were Black, just like me. That evening Dad and I checked the brothers out and have been checking them out ever since. We are the proud owners of the video, dvd, cd and tee shirt! Never had I seen such a spectacular performance. Opera, Broadway show tunes, blues, gospel and more. I was anxious for Three Mo' Tenors to perform somewhere -- anywhere -- in my town or one nearby. Would they be just as good in person as they were on the PBS special? Ten months later I received answers to many of my queries. So ... on Wednesday, April 24, with Dad, and my youngest daughter in tow, we had the chance to see -- for ourselves -- Three Mo' Tenors in the flesh. In a word, they were AWESOME. The timeless adage which expresses singular talent as something special and combined talents as 'something else' definitely rang true as I sat, mesmerized at the awesome talent before me. On a scale of 1-10, Three Mo' Tenors have definitely earned a 10+ in my book proving what I have always known: We definitely have skills!!!
I happened upon the PBS performance and could not turn away. The artists have an extraordinary range of musical talent. Each song was delivered with great style. I was entirely moved and can't wait to get the CD & Video. I love these guys.
This video was truly breath taking. It was more than I'd expected it to be. I have two toddlers and really do love the music. Everytime it's on they can't keep still. I really don't know what else to say other than if you wish to lighten your spirits, forget the day's times, and get into the groove of things, just put this on get over everything else. It's a phenominal expression of some ''good stuff''!
