    LOVED THIS SHOW

Considering that FOX TV had no intention of allowing this series to succeed: 1) its broadcast release was delayed to be filler material for an expected TV strike; 2) production was suspended because of the delay and the cast and crew were not called back to work; and 3) once the strike was averted, FOX placed the show up against both ''Friends'' and ''Survivor'' at their viewership apexes to use up the episodes; it is gratifying to see this series get the DVD exposure since there was not enough episodes to allow significant TV replays. The live action version is an admirable adaptation of the satirical comic book and cartoon, although I did not like the fact that the series changed the names of the supporting heroes: ''American Maid, the world's most patriotic domestic'' is much funnier than ''Captain Liberty'' and changing ''Die Flatermous''(sic) to ''Bat-Manuel'' reduced that character to an ethnic joke. Still, Patrick Warbuckle was born to play The Tick and he does so with a gusto that should be seen and appreciated.
