Overview

Advertised by its distributor as a successor to such theatrically released religious dramas as Facing the Giants (2006) and Fireproof (2008) -- though it came from a completely different production team -- this inspirational saga recounts the story of Jake Taylor (Randy Wayne), a well-rounded, Middle American teen who seems to have everything going for him, his world in perfect balance. But when an unexpected tragedy strikes in the form of a childhood friend's death, Jake suddenly begins to question everything he had long taken for granted, and he's soon forced to make a decision that will permanently change his future.

The movie To Save a Life is a huge eye opener for teens and parents. This is the best movie Ryan Haug's (Jake) the main actor has ever done. It is a Christian based movie unlike any other movie I have seen. Jake in this movie is a normal teenager who likes to party and is the best player on the basketball team. He starts out with everything going for him. He is prom king; jock and he had the prettiest girlfriend in school. Then, ever since his childhood friend passed away something changed in him. He wanted to actually do something with his life. I like how the director of the movie shows real life scenarios and the consequences for the character's actions in the movie. There are many things that happen in this movie such as suicide, teenage pregnancy, sex, drinking, drugs, cutting, bullying and divorce. These are all topics that aren't good to always hear about but with this movie they make it clear that a single person can change the thoughts of others. This movie would be perfect for youth groups to go see or even a family. Every high school should have their students watch this. Although I'm sure it won't change every teen's train of thought if it even changes one kid's then this movie has made a difference. That is one less kid that is going to treat others badly. The messages that are broadcasted in this movie seem to stick with you. I would love to change somebody's life like Jake did with Jonny. The only way this will happen is if teenagers would open up to something different and go against what society tells them is right. It is hard but by seeing this movie it should tell you that you can do it only if you're willing too. By one kid stepping out and doing something who knows how many others may follow. It does a great job of showing with God in our lives anything is possible. I really enjoyed this movie and it opened up my eyes to things that were unseen. Go buy this movie because just renting it will probably make you wish that you had bought it.

After having seen this movie about 10 times, I decided I should just purchase it. So I did, and I'm so glad I did. I am now trying to show it to anyone I can. I have played it for most of my family members, friends, and I am working with my youth group pastor to play it at church. I just want to get the message out so everyone can see it. It is a really great film. It won't change everyone's lives, but if you let it, you will become a better person. This movie is amazing and i think everyone of every age should see it.

I saw this movie twice in theaters and bought it the first week it was out! This is an amazing movie!!! I think it challenges teens to get out of their comfort zones and reach out to teens who are hurting. It shows that Christians aren't always perfect and things do not always go perfectly when you are a Christian. It's very powerful and uplifting and encouraging!! It's very challenging and convicting. It makes a huge impact on me every time I see it!
