I've never read the book but I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Stephen Fry is fantastic as a well-meaning, reform-minded headmaster and Alex Pettyfer is a fantastic actor the transformation of his character from a shallow and bitter schoolboy to a young man that stands up for himself against a bigger more powerful opponent is brilliant. The casting and costumes are amazing -- a film that all growing boys should watch, maybe they would learn something...
