    A Thought-Provoking Action Flick.....

What an amazing feat - an action movie that makes you really think!! With excellent performances by Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Said Taghmoui (et all), (especially appreciate Neal McDonough's portrayal of the Beanhead FBI sidekick!) this movie zooms you all over -- Sudan, Yemen, Spain, France, England, the U.S. & Canada. Samir Horn, a Sudanese born American Muslim ex-Special forces arms dealer, is caught in Yemen by FBI agent Roy Clayton, a Ph.D., in Arabic Studies, & his 'forgot-the-bill-of-rights at-home' FBI sidekick, Max Archer. While in a Yemeni prison Samir befriends Omar, a well-educated Arab member of a Muslim extremist group setting off terrorist bombings around the globe. Impressed by Samir's deep faith, Omar gets him out during a prison break. The ensuing plot develops their friendship and juxtaposes the intricacies of an extremist group plotting multiple bombings with the FBI team tracking down every global lead. Everything is not as simple as it seems, however, as the wildly unexpected ending reveals. This is a clever story about faith and extremes, with many exciting twists & turns along the way. Kudos to writer & Director Jeffrey Nachmanoff for this thought-provoking film. (After living in the Middle East for 5 yrs, I was also very impressed with the authentic details -even Don Cheadle's Arabic!)

Highly recommend(!)- also a great tool for discussion groups & students.
