This is a first rate crime series with outstanding scripts and excellent acting. The characters are flawed human beings with a lot of depth. I recommend the series highlyWas this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
Lynda La Plante triumphs again. Although the first series was compelling, you won't believe what happens in this second series -- and I don't want to spoil it for you. I found myself sympathetic to Walker -- and then despising his ambition and arrogance. The plots are intriguing and dark, but equally interesting are the relationships among the "coppers" and their complex and realistic private lives. Also fun are the trial sequences with the witty, egotistical lawyers -- and often you aren't quite sure how things will turn out until the very end. Law and Order is interesting but superficial in comparison, and McCoy makes things so earnest. This British version is far more complex, character-driven, dark, and cynical -- and thoroughly engrossing. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
