Twisted Is Not As Twisted As You Think

Ashley Judd (Heat, Divine Secrets Of The Ya-Ya Sisterhood, High Crimes, Kiss The Girls & Double Jeopardy) plays the part of newly appointed Police Inspector, Jessica Sheppard in this suspense thriller from Philip Kaufman. Haunted by her own family's past, Jessica takes to alcohol and picking up strangers in local bars and pubs for one night stands, much to the vexation of her mentor and friend, John Mills (Samuel L. Jackson - Shaft, Pulp Fiction, Die Hard 2: Die Harder & A Time To Kill) who also happens to be the Police Commissioner. Her first day on the job with her new partner Mike Delmarco (Andy Garcia - Jennifer 8, Ocean's Eleven, Desperate Measures & Dead Again), a body is washed ashore with a cigarette burn on his hand. After inspecting the body, Jessica finds to her surprise that it was one of the men she had slept with. Then another body appears...and another...all with this same identical cigarette burn, and all former lovers of Jessica's. Slipping deeper into the alcohol, suffering from blackouts with no memory of the lost time, her partner starting to behave strangely, and an ex-boyfriend pushing his limits, Jessica finds herself embroiled in a very deep and complicated case in which all clues are pointing directly to her...and she has absolutely no answers. As she begins to piece this puzzle together, she finds out some things that changes her life forever. *** After watching this movie with nothing less than a great cast, I found myself a little bit on the disappointed side. Having predicted the outcome of this one in the 1st 20 minutes of the movie, I was only tagging along to see how the story would develop. Of course, there is no way possible for anyone (even those who may have guessed 'Who Did It') to know the motives and reasons behind it all, so I was anxious to see if it be a satisfying absolution. After the true villian was revealed and their motives made clear, I have to admit I was disappointed here as well. It lacked any real creativity, and had resigned itself to settling into a common mold often used in vehicles of this genre. And even though sinister as the villian was, I also found myself thinking that if a police officer frequented bars and took home strangers to sleep with as she did, then she got what she deserved. She almost came across as not only mischievious with her lovers, but almost even a little bit on the evil side herself (of course, in an effort to make the viewer think that perhaps she COULD be guilty after all). A drop down from the normal standard by the actors in this movie, I felt this one overall was worth viewing once. But you could do a lot worse too. Worth buying to add to your collection. But you may find yourself passing it over later on for other movies of better quality.

    Movie well named

The ending was a total shock to the system! It keeps you on your toes and guessing to the very end.

    Twisted is a good movie

Twisted is a good horror flick, and just enough goor. It does not have to much goor though. when Jessica passes out from drinking she wakes up with a friend dead. She thinks it is her but finds out she could not have commited these crimes. I think twisted was a good movie and i would like to pass it on. So do what I say pass it on.
