As I said in the headline, this blu-ray doesn't appear to be any sharper or less grainy than the DVD. If you own the DVD, I wouldn't bother buying this.

As a storm chaser, its not very realistic, yet seeing all the similarities between the movie and the reality make this movie one of my favorites of all time.

I dont know what it is, I'm freaked out by tornadoes, and yet I love movies about them. This movie, was by far the best twister movie ever(not that there have been many). There was really good acting in this movie, and good special effects. Go out and see this movie!

I liked Twister because for one, he takes place in Oklahoma where I live, and two, because it tells of a natural disaster that people in the Tornado Alley get. This is a great movie that tells the truth of tornadoes. Of course, many parts are not real(like the cow) but it adds the visual affect needed to get the point across on wind speed and such.

When the wind stops blowing, you might say, ''Twister'' starts to. Some pretty terrific extreme- weather scenes (which nevertheless could've been scarier if the filmmakers made the scenes a little more ragged and chaotic, as though they were filming actual tornadoes) are the ''good parts'' that are the viewer's reward for sitting through a dull soap-opera plot about two soon-to- be-divorced storm chasers. There may be a very talented cast here, but you'd never be able to tell (aside from Phillip Seymour Hoffman in a relatively early role--he's the only tolerable one in the bunch). Aside from that, there are wall-to-wall improbabilities that try the patience even more and leave no doubt you're watching a Hollywood blockbuster that can't be bothered with telling a credible story. Why else would a killer storm with 300-mph winds suck up an 18-wheeler off the highway but leave the two lead characters unscathed (not to mention that it can disintegrate a house but can't even ruffle the grass 50 feet away from the funnel cloud)?

I watched this movie to see Helen Hunt. And she plays her part well. But the star of this movie is the Twister and the effects it has on it surroundings. The special effects are great. I have heard some people say that the plot is not great....There is a love story, a healing of a pscological trauma and the story of what it is like to be a storm chaser.....So I think there is a plot with sub-plots involved. But when all is said and done, the twister steals the show.
