Overview

Separated at birth and never told about their identical twin sisters, two confused witches discover the secrets of their magical past upon being reunited on their twenty-first birthdays in a Disney Channel original movie starring Sister, Sister's Tia and Tamara Towry. Adapted from the best-selling series of children's books, Twitches tells the tale of two reunited sisters who set about discovering the true potential of their powers while battling the dreaded force of Darkness in a bid to save the enchanted land of Coventry in which they were born.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
Wealthy, pampered, and popular Camryn is turning 21, and she feels like "something special is going to happen." Responsible, hardworking Alex is turning 21, and she feels like "something horrible is going to happen." They are both right. Before they meet on this fateful day, neither could have imagined that they were twin sisters separated at birth, nor that they were both witches whose powers would be unleashed upon their reunion. Now they must learn to work together to defeat the Darkness that threatens to destroy them and their true home kingdom of Coventry. Based on H. B. Gilmour and Randi Reisfeld's popular book and broadcast on the Disney Channel, Twitches has the makings of a franchise vehicle for Tia and Tamera Mowry (Sister, Sister). As one character observes, they are "good together." As is Disney Channel's wont, rather obvious comic relief is mostly provided by silly adults. Jennifer Robertson and Pat Kelly costar as Illeana and Karsh, the girls' protectors from another dimension who have difficulty getting used to our strange ways. "I went through some '70s wallpaper that's gonna scar me for life," Illeana complains when she materializes through a wall. Mildly scary (when Darkness falls), Twitches recalls Disney’s Halloweentown films in its tenor. The tricks are the treats, as when the girls test out their newfound powers in a montage set to the Go-Go's peppy "We Got the Beat." Go Twitches, go Twitches!

I am a huge fan of the book series and when I saw Disney was making a movie, I was excited. Although I am disappointed that they changed a few things, I love the movie, but not as much as the books.
