Special movies deserve special treatment. That's why Disney has pulled out all the stops for this Ultimate Box Set, featuring Toy Story and Toy Story 2. The three-DVD collector's edition offers both movies in wide-screen and with THX-certified sound. The third DVD, stuffed with more playthings than an aisle at Toys "R" Us, boasts audio commentaries by the filmmakers, plus "The Making of Toy Story," outtakes and deleted animation, interviews, and scads of information on how Pixar and Disney managed all that eye-popping and, in the case of Toy Story, special-Oscar winning movie magic. Less fanatic devotees of Buzz and Woody may want to make due with the more humble Toy Story & Toy Story 2 set, which features the two computer-animated movies on separate DVDs with a few extras, including a pair of director John Lasseter's earlier short animated features.

This is by far the best animated movie I have ever seen. The folks at Pixar have truly outdone themselves. If you have not seen this, you are missing out!

I've seen Toy Story back in 1995, but I didn't get drawn into the whole plot of the story. It seemed silly, and I felt a little too old for the movie. When Toy Story 2 came out, it took a lot of convincing from a friend of mine to get me to watch. And watch i did, with an air of skeptimism because everyone knows that sequels are never as good as the original. and WAS I WRONG to think that. Toy Story 2 was GREAT! It was full of allusions to other movies that made it hilarious. The characters were even more developed and made even more lovable than before. Through these five years, Pixar has greatly expanded their technological scope. However, Toy Story 2 didn't make Toy Story seem pathetic, infact, it did exactly the opposite. It allowed the audience to see the evolution of the great storyline, characters, and technology with an appreciative eye. When you have a great peice of work being put forth, you'd always want to know what went behind such a creation. This is why getting the toy story collector's edition is a great idea, and it's exactly what i did after seeing toy story 2. It includes Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and a supplementary DVD that gives a plethora of information on the two animated movies. You'll be finding plenty of surprises in these DVDs and it's definitely worth your money. It's truly a valuable collectable, just like Woody himself.
