Uncovered: Whole Truth About The Iraq War

This film combines television footage of statements by Bush administration officials with interviews of intelligence and Middle East experts. This mix reflects that (1) the Bush administration knowingly (or very negligently) lied about Iraq's threat to the U.S. through purported weapons of mass destruction, (2) the Bushies exploited Americans' fears following 9/11 to make its bogus case for war, and (3) following the invasion and occupation of Iraq, the administration's story changed regarding the purported reasons for the war. The movie itself is about an hour long, but there is another hour of extended interviews that are as fascinating as the movie itself. The facts revealed in Uncovered establish that Americans who care about the future of our country and world must speak up and hold the Bush administration accountable for the deaths and destruction resulting from this war for which the administration had absolutely no legitimate foundation.

Some may claim this is biased, but since it's based almost solely on actual clips of the President and the Administration in their lead up to the war in Iraq, it's hard to find fault. It's frightening how the media was persuaded to publish and broadcast only the Administration's view of the danger that they claimed Hussein posed to the nation. Since we now know that there are no "weapons of mass destruction" it's filled with supreme irony to watch and listen as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Powell claim to know exactly what Hussein had and where he had it. Former CIA personnel provide very interesting perspective on how information is collected and what it means when it's delivered to the Administration and Congress, before it's edited for political effect. It's hard not to come away from this film without feeling outraged that the population of a democracy could be so manipulated.

Just look at the names associated with this production, and see if you could possibly get "the whole truth" from them: Robert Greenwald is closely aligned with Moveon.org, a group famous for misleading the public. According to a previous reviewer, Greenwald "presents the stories of informed political figures, scientists, and intelligence officers." Former CIA operative Robert Baer... editor of "The Nation" magazine (and well-known despiser of George W. Bush) David Corn, and former ambassador Joe Wilson (husband of Valerie Plame, and also a Bush "enemy"). Features interviews with over two dozen experts, including weapons inspectors Scott Ritter, who himself stated on the PBS show, The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer: I think the danger right now is that without effective inspections, without effective monitoring, Iraq can in a very short period of time measured in months, reconstitute chemical and biological weapons, long-range ballistic missiles to deliver these weapons, and even certain aspects of their nuclear weaponization program", and David Albright, who as a member of the IAEA questioned Iraqi officials about their country's uranium enrichment program. Since the film was produced by a company called "Disinformation", perhaps the veracity of their movie might also be called into question............
