Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Jeremy Wheeler
This Cynthia Rothrock flick gained somewhat of a following due to a viral video campaign on the web in early 2006 that highlighted the hilarious end fight scene, which as luck would have it, is every bit as deliciously dumb as the rest of this bit of straight-to-video clunker. In the film, Rothrock dishes out her own brand of justice on an eye-gouging, wife-beating villain who takes pleasure in random S & M torture and copious amounts of hair spray. The wide-eyed baddy in question is Stingray, brilliantly overacted by Don Niam, whose electric performance is a standout among a sea of similar scene-chewing hams. Director Godfrey Ho (working under one of his many pseudonyms) had long ditched his white-boy ninja rip-off flicks by 1993, though his preposterous action movie sensibilities are obviously still set on sweaty, bare-chested overload by the looks of this picture. Rothrock pulls a few impressive acrobatic moves out of her bag of tricks, though someone should have told the mannish action starlet to cut down on the obnoxious hair bows and caked-on makeup during production. With a little nugget of absurd joy awaiting the viewer almost every minute of the film, Undefeatable is a hidden gem of fist-to-the-face entertainment that doesn't quit until not one, but two, pun-filled one-liners are uttered, which makes this one martial arts flick worth hunting down at all costs.
