In short, this movie takes you on an emotional adventure like no other (or as Pixar does best). Up starts off with a heart-wrenching, tear-wiping montage, then escelates forward toward adrenaline-pumping thrills and adventure, finally bringing you back down for a very gentle and satisfied landing, leaving your every cinematic hopes completely fulfilled. Don't hate yourself by not seeing Up (despite your age and taste). In fact, save the rental fee and just buy it if you're a collector. But then again, I really didn't need to write this reveiw. I beleive I speak for the majority when I say the Pixar logo speaks for itself: Your satisfaction guaranteed.

Lively dialogue, fun story line, and humor with well developed characters is all part of this amazing DVD. It will definitely take you "up" and away. Get your movie snacks and ENJOY! the adventure.

I purchased this film as a gift but had the opportunity to watch it myself with the gift recipient. The trailer is deceiving as the story is much more of an adult tale, especially toward the beginning. It is certainly heartwarming and although I believe that adults would take the messages away from this more than children, the characters are bold, funny and Pixar certainly knows how to animate. I recommend the film but knocked one point off since it is marketed more toward children which I am not certain is their best market. It's message does remain with you.

I never heard of this movie Up until the day I watched it. This movie can be seen in theaters or on Blue Ray and comes with four bonus disks, which I have not watched yet. The cast of this movie is great. The funniest part of the cast is the voices of the characters. They fit the personalities very well especially for the character "Russell", who for me is the funniest. Up is a "four and a half star" cartoon movie based on a young boy and girl who grow up together, get married and fulfill their dreams with a little twist.
This is a very comical, serious, and affecting movie that can bring tears to your eyes from laughing and actually tears to your eyes from the emotional scenes. I watched this with my three roommates and we were cracking up throughout the whole movie. Whether you are twenty five years old or five years old you will have the same reaction. One of the most appealing things about this movie is the DVD case itself. The cover catches the eye with the bright colors and the characters especially. Up is a very over exaggerated movie but it is made from Disney. If you are ever having a bad day and need to cheer or simply need a laugh this is the movie that will do the trick.
After the credits roll and it goes back to the home screen it will have you thinking. Thinking about life and how important people are. I am not going to give anything away but you will think to yourself why is this old man treating this little boy like this? In the end you will feel just as the old man does and that's the whole point of this movie.
I would have to say that UP is in my top five favorites ever. After watching it for the first time I think I literally watched it four more times during the same week. I cannot really say anything bad about this movie except that in some cases things can get a little too crazy for kids but it is nothing too crazy to prevent a seven year old from watching it. If I had to describe this movie in one word it would have to be "vibrant". I give this movie two thumbs up and recommend it to all.

I think this is a good movie and great for kids. This movie is about how a kid and guy go on an adventure up in the air so they can get away from the city and all the mean people. They land on a island and have a great time but they end up going back home.

I was not prepared to be as enchanted by Up, as I was. I do love animation, but as I watched I forgot that it was a cartoon and was truly engaged in the characters. I even cried again as I watched it the second time. It makes you remember the innocence of childhood past and convinces you to believe the adventure is not necessarily over just because you're older. The betrayal by a character revered by the main character was sad and I remembered back to the first time that someone fell from the pedestal I had placed them on. It's a telling moment in the movie and perhaps a little frightening for really young ones.
I really enjoyed this movie, A LOT! And I highly recommend it!

I'm a Disney/Pixar fan and I pretty much love any and all things they put out and I honestly didnt think they could top "finding nemo" until I watched "Up". This movie isn't just for kids, its for adults too and anyone who just needs a good laugh. Its well written and well acted out and as usual Disney/Pixar has yet another winner on its hands. The movie is colorful and expressive with cute one liners that will have you laughing out loud.So if you're looking for a good movie to watch on Friday night with the kids, then this is what you should pop into your DVD player.Up totally rocks.

My five year old is very picky when it comes to movies, and he liked this one so much he asked to watch it again the next night. The story is great, a little sad at times, but great story. Another hit from Pixar. Loved the characters, especially the talking dogs. My son laughed from the one with the broken collar, he kept saying he sounded like a chipmunk. Only one part I wouldn't recommend for little kids, when the bad guy falls, I wasn't expecting that and had to try to explain what happened. Other than that moment, the story was cute for my five year old. Loved the beautiful place that they travel to, and the cool characters they encounter.

What a delightful and heartwarming film with a memorable theme song and a not-so-subtle message about the importance of relationships (whether with spouses or annoying little boys)! The well-developed characters left no doubt that they were voiced by Ed Asner and Christopher Plummer as protagonist and antagonist, respectively. The film lends itself to discussion about not only relationships but also following dreams, trusting in others, and conquering heroes-turned-villains. I viewed it in the movie theatre in 3-D, but the 2-D version for home viewing is equally enjoyable. Just looking at the cover makes me smile, but I know I will watch it many more times with my family.

This is one of the best Disney films ever made. It is amazingly touching during the first part of the film. It is good adventure for children watching it. As a middle aged person I thoroughly enjoyed it. We are particularly grateful for the employees in Loveland who spent a lot of time looking for it on the shelves. When it couldn't be found they called the Fort Collins store and had them save a copy for me.

From the first time I saw this movie, I knew it was a keeper. There are few Pixar films that aren't keepers, but this one has extra heart with a solid story and unexpected action. The trailers do not do justice to the story line. More than a grouchy old man who's lost his wife and has progress pressing in from all sides, it's a story of four unique hearts bound together by accident and lift each other up. When life gets you down, there are those around to help and remind you to get back Up. And who the people are may be surprising.

I love this movie. It is a little sad at the start. It is how an old gentleman and a little boy go on a trip together. The old man decides what is important in his life. It is a cute uplifting movie, great for children and adults. The whole family loved it.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. At first, this movie is kinda sad...and when you watch it, you'll understand why within the first half hour, but after that, it really turns from tragedy to uplifting and fun! The dogs in this, primarily the main one (I love dogs), and many of the shennanigans that happen along the course of this movie are pretty funny, and the adventure the old man and the boy have is fun. More than that though, it really teaches a lot about compassion, loyalty, sacrifice, and helping those in need. I would recommend this to anyone...kids, adults, and the elderly alike. It is truly a fun and uplifting tale.
