I used to watch Upstairs Downstairs when it was first out, as a child. Now, we are watching them with our teenage sons. While the video is not as clear as the new shows today, and in season 1 some of the shows are black and white, this all adds to the shows charm. The show itself, while fictional, is almost a great history lesson as well and at the end of each episode, we have great discussions about why the characters did what they did. The DVD's have good sound, the pictures are clear and this is a great show. The characters draw you in and for the full episode, no one is getting up to leave. We are definetly getting season 2!
