Overview

Charismatic yoga teacher Seane Corn believes that "yoga without spirit is just calisthenics," and this intimate Vinyasa-based practice reflects that view perfectly. Overview

Charismatic yoga teacher Seane Corn believes that "yoga without spirit is just calisthenics," and this intimate Vinyasa-based practice reflects that view perfectly. Corn leads viewers through an hour-plus series of postures linked by sun salutations and emphasizing standing poses, including some challenging standing twists, while offering frequent reminders that yoga is meant to link the mind, body, and soul together, not merely to be a good workout. The practice is slow-paced and Corn offers modifications for poses, but some familiarity with yoga is assumed. Fans of Corn's intense but compassionate style will find this unscripted session rewarding, particularly if they are looking for a more challenging physical experience than that presented on the excellent first volume of this series. For viewers who don't have time for the complete practice, the DVD offers a 40-minute shortened version that omits some introductory material and breathwork.

    But great for most!

I actually don't have this one, but I have the first one. I think that Seane's voice is great and I enjoy her explanations. Just wanted to counter the 'Not for everyone' review since it appears the person writing it is judgemental!

Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Seane Corn

I have had the opportunity to study with Seane in person, and I find her DVD's absolutly wonderful, while working in the comfort of my home. As a beginner her instruction was complete, and I find myself practicing in a safe, proper form. Her philosophy is warm, inviting, and her true heart felt grace in yoga is felt in the DVD as it is in person.

    too slow

Who needs all this instruction. I feel that it is entirely too slow and instructional. There is no way I could watch this on a regular basis.

    Love Sean Corn

I to do not have this dvd but have been enjoying another by Sean Corn. She incorporates the spiritual aspect beautifully without letting it overcome. The instructions are easy to follow without having to look at the screen. Dont know what the heck "Not for everyone" is talking about! Her voice is great and is very motivating.

    Fantastic Yoga Video

I taught yoga for two years and I promise this is a fantastic video for those who have had some yoga or who have used her first video. The best instruction, you don't have to look at the screen.

    Not for everyone...

While this DVD does promise a more spiritual focus on the yoga practice, very little of it is incorporated into the DVD. The interviews provide little, if any, added benefit, physically or otherwise, for the yoga practitioner, and woman's voice is, to say the least, not easy on the ears. I get more stressed by just listening to her scratchy voice alone during the exercises. Even though the instructor talks excessively during the exercises, very little explanation about the crucial details of the poses are given, and there is little or no mention of breathing technique instruction during the actual exercises, except maybe in the Victory Breath feature on the second disc. While the poses are well illustrated and demonstrated, little is given to yoga learners in the way of how to properly and effectively adjust to and learn them. Poses alone are, alas, insufficient for a complete yoga learning session. I much rather prefer Alan Finger's instruction from the Yoga Zone series. His speech has a slight accent, but is very calming and at least doesn't remind me of nails down a chalkboard.

    Gets better and better!!

I love this DVD better than the first!! For one, because there's a shorter version of the session. One is over and hour and the shorter one is 40 minutes. It's great for the days we don't have alot of time. Spiritually, this DVD gives us several small interviews with Seane - which gives us more insight into what the practice should be about. This DVD is wonderful!!
