As a fan of the late Jon Erik Hexum, this show is a treasure after waiting so very long for it to be brought to dvd.It does have educational properties. The historical figures that Jeffrey and Phineas meet are really interesting. From the Wright Brothers,Thomas Edison,Cleopatra,Babe Ruth,Abraham Lincoln,to Robin Hood ,the stories are not bad.The Titanic episode happens to be one of my personal favorites. This show also encourages kids to read which in my book( no pun intended) is a great thing.
