Barnes & Noble
Whoever said that losing weight is no "walk in the park" can now effectively eat their words; and fitness guru Leslie Sansone will gladly show the way to the table. Or better yet, around the table. For the three tapes in this comprehensive collection are designed to let a viewer Walk Away the Pounds in the comfort of one's own home, using a pair of two-pound "Walk Away" hand weights to aid in the toning process. Beginning with the Get Up and Get Started tape, Sansone introduces the concepts of her "gentle-yet-effective" program. It all begins with what she describes as a "brisk, upbeat" walking style, concentrating on correct, balanced posture. The goals at the outset are to tone your legs, buttocks, and abdominal muscles while conditioning your heart and speeding up your metabolism. In the second tape, High-Calorie Burn, Sansone leads you on a two-mile walk in the safety of your own home again, avoiding the furniture is your responsibility. A bit more energizing than Get Up and Get Started, the workout includes fresh steps and moves to make the time fly. Goals here include trimming the waistline; strengthening muscles in the legs, chest, back, and arms; and -- of course -- burning calories. Not, though, on the order of Tape 3, Super Fat Burning, in which one's caloric incineration is so remarkable as to inspire a viewer to don tights and a cape before going out to fight crime. Well, maybe not. But the three-mile workout is very invigorating and, if followed, will certainly improve upper- and lower-body fitness without beating your body to a pulp. The tapes in the Walk Away the Pounds collection are available individually, or without the "Walk Away" hand weights.

    LOVE IT!

These tapes are great. I am over 50 and not too coordinated, but I can easily follow all the moves on these tapes. I don't have any trouble keeping up, as I have with some videos that change the steps too quickly. I mostly use the 2 mile walk, but if time is short use the 1 mile walk. The 3 mile is still hard, but I use it sometimes for that extra burn. I will use it every day after a few more weeks. I love the weighted balls. They really add to the workout, and are easy to hold.

    I'm walking and losing!

I've been doing these tapes along with a better diet for 5 months now and I've lost 25 lbs and 2 sizes. The tapes are easy to follow, fun and I never tire of them. My hubby has been doing them now with me for 3 months.

GREAT workout and so much FUN!

I just got this set of tapes after having lost 64 pounds so far (I have about 40 more to lose) and I LOVE this group of tapes. Leslie is so motivating and fun/upbeat and she makes the time go by so fast. The 2 mile is challenging and the 3 mile is definitely a challenge, as well. You really work the entire body. The 1 mile is great if you are pressed for time. You still get a good workout with it. I usually do the 3 mile and then the 1 mile in succession. These tapes are the best money I've spent in some time.

    A Super Workout

These are definitely the best workout tapes. The moves are easy yet effective. The weights are great to work with. I also love that I don't have to move furniture around in my living room to make room to do this workout. I recommend these tapes to anybody, at any age and at any fitness level.

Great Way to Get Into Shape

The first exercise video I ever bought was ''Leslie Sansone: Walk Away the Pounds'' and I absolutely love it. I've used it nearly every night for the past six months and am still motivated and look foward to walking each time. By watching my diet - nothing too rigid or extreme - I have lost over 20 pounds and have gone from a size 10 to a very comfortable size 4. (By the way, I am 56 years old and a grandmother.) I was always heavy as a child and I have always had a problem with my weight. This has been nothing short of a miracle. It's fun and it works. I just bought Leslie's new program, ''Walk Away the Pounds for Abs'' and love it too. Now I can have variety...use one three-mile video one day, the other three-mile video the next. I've bought the original set with the weights for my daughter and several of my friends, and we all feel the same...it's great. Thanks, Leslie!

    I love these tapes-and I hate excercise!

I am a person who really hates excercise. I find it boring and a time-waster. I had been able to maintain my weight through the years without excercise, but after I hit 40, it was much harder. I needed to firm up! I tried joining a gym, but didn't go. I heard of Leslie's tapes and bought them sight unseen. This is actually a tape set that I can do! By the time I worked up to the 3 mile tape, I could tell a difference in my body. I have incorporated this into my daily routine and the best part is that I can do this rain or shine, whether it is 90 degrees or zero degrees. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Very Motivational and easy to Follow

A friend of mine kept raving about these tapes until I finally went out and bought tape 3 (Fat Burning video). After using the tape ONE time I found out what she was raving about. I found the tape easy to follow and very motivational. It keeps you at a constant pace without having to think too much about what you're doing. I love the fact that she includes a lot of arm exercises. I have really noticed an improvement in my arm strength and tone. Leslie seems like a real person you'd meet at an exercise class. I don't use the walk away weights, I use regular hand weights. I look forward to my work outs and feel very energized when I'm finished. I have purchased many exercise tapes and I rate this one as the best I've used. I have purchased several for family members and they are all ''hooked'' on them! Including my mother who couldn't seem to get motivated by any other exercise. I'm looking forward to trying the 4 mile video!

    I love these tapes!!

Finally an excercise program that is easy, effective and fun. I just finished the 21 day instructional guide and lost 5 pounds, I started at 190 pounds and I am currently 185. I am really excited. I use the walk away belt which is really helping with upper body strength. I have no problem working out 7 days a week. I actually WANT to work out every day. I really enjoy working out now. Not following the diet cards though, I am still eating foods I love, just watching the portions. My goal is to reach 155-160 I am confident I will reach my goals!!

    Very Good Videos, BUT...

I had borrowed this 3-video set from a friend of mine and used them so much that I just had to buy myself the videos and weights. I LOVE doing these tapes; I feel as if I got a workout, but I don't feel winded and exhausted after I've worked out. HOWEVER - the weights that this set comes with are NOT the weights with the sand in them. I had to fill water in my blue ball weights - which now makes me feel like I'm workout with water balloons.

    Highly Recommended For Hesitant Exercisers!!!

In January, I decided to start a fitness program, largely because of seeing Leslie's tapes on an infomercial. Once I recieved them, I was hooked!!! Although I was highly knowlegable of what constituted a good aerobic workout, I was not too motivated and had the potential to be discouraged by ex-cheerleader, spandex-wearing types on fitness videos. However, Leslie was just the right combination of energetic without being ''peppy'', and professional without losing that ''real'' quality that lets you know that she's dealing with the same stuff you are. Content-wise, the programs are amazingly complete, even though they are based on only four simple steps: marching, side-steps, knee lifts, and kicks. With variations (such as kick-backs) and modifications (such as travelling), you are almost always doing something new while working the muscles continuously. Throwing in the option of using hand weights just ups the intensity and adds another level (although, on a ''wimpy'' day, I do allow myself to opt out of the weights and I still feel like I got a great workout.) Out of five stars, I had to give Leslie's ''Walk Away The Pounds'' series a solid 4.5. My only complaints were these: I really did not like working with the weighted balls that she promotes and includes in some sets. I found them difficult to hang onto and balance, so I chose to purchase a set of 2-pound dumbells instead (on stronger days, I use 3-pounders). Just go for the videos themselves. Also, my one serious complaint is the lack of appropriate cool-down at the end of her walking routines. A few inhales/exhales and a set of leg stretches on each side just is not going to do it after the great workout that you've just completed! So, be prepared to include 5-10 minutes of your own stretches after the 2- and 3-mile tapes. P.S. - If you really get hooked onto Leslie's tapes, as I did, I suggest also investing in a few of her older tapes, such as the Miracle Mile and 2-Mile workouts. They are actually challenging in a different sort of way... no weights, but snappier choreography. Both her new and old tapes include a meter to track your progress, which is a nice motivational feature. I can't say enough good things about Leslie Sansone and her programs. I know that our time and money are precious, but for those of you interested in improving your health and fitness, this is a sound investment.

Great combination of weight training and aerobics

Myself and a few women at work decided to start working out before summer hits. A friend let me borrow ''Walk away the pounds'' and we are hooked. I wanted to work on muscle and some of the others prefer aerobics. We have decided this is the perfect combination between both and these are the only tapes we want to work out to. Several of us have gone out and purchased the whole set. I'm still borrowing my friend's tapes but intend on picking it up in the next week or so. I can't wait to get my hands on the walk away weights. My friend absolutely raves about them. Very good choice.
