I have never seen a chickflick that I have truely liked - until now that is. This movie about a 18 year old girl tells the sweet story of a girl who just wants to be with her dad. It is sweet and not over the top romantic or filled with silly blonds (or others) who always get the guy. Daphne (the main character) is unique character who believes in being yourself no matter what those around you think. Many lessons are learned throughout the story and I think this a great dad and daughter movie. It is all together the best chickflick I have ever seen. - There are a few things to watch out for though. Daphne wears some skimpy, tight, and belly showing outfits - typically American. A boy in the film loves women, and he obviously likes trying to touch there rears. He is punished by Daphne for his efforts but in the end he is seen squeezing a womans rear. The a-- word is used is used once.
I think the cover photo is very misleading as it gives no hint that this is a very clean and hilarious family movie in the mold of "The Princess Diaries." While the outfits are not very conservative, the cover photo is not representative of what's in this movie. Aside from a drop of bad language, this movie is free of innuendos or other adult content. Its story of a daughter's quest to connect with her father (which is what the title refers to) is very heartwarming. I recommend it for families who enjoyed "The Princess Diaries."
This movie was a great movie and i loved it. I can't wait till it comes out so i can watch it again. My family liked it also.
''What a Girl Wants'' is a perfect teen movie for teens all over!It is a perfect family movie with comdey and drama.Girls will love Amanda Bynes display of hummor and drama as only she can do it!''What a Girl Wants'' is the best teen movie yet to come!Girls will go crazy over it!
Ok, so yes, I admit Colin was the only reason I went to see this movie in the theater.... Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have gone seen it. But it turned out to be a really great movie anyway. All the girls from the dorm that I went to see it with really liked it too. (and they weren't die-hard Colin Firth fans like me either!!! LOL!)
Amanda Bynes is absolutely adorable in this role. This movie will make you laugh and cry.
There's a whole lot of great movies. This is one of them.I love this movie.
I think the movie was so awesome. Amanda was good + funny in it. Oliver James was so hot as Ian. He sings in the movie + he has a great voice. Anyone who likes comedies should check this out
I was excited about seeing this movie just to goggle at Colin Firth. He is clearly the best performer in this movie however this movie was worth the price of admission and turned out to be a pleasant, if somewhat predicatable movie.
This was a great movie!I like it cuz I got very involved that I even cried at the sad parts! Everyone in the movie did a great job!I cant wait to buy it when it comes out!
AWESOME it's very cute... sorta a chick flick... guilty pleasure for those who are older. Great for ALL ages and that Oliver James guy is a HOTTIE!
What a Girl Wants is a great movie! It's not perfect, but few movies are. But, its great for girls around my age who love adorable movies like this. It truly is what a girl wants in a movie.
I loved this movie so much.Ian is so nice to her and encourages her to be herself. You will not regret seeing or buying this movie. If you love heart-warming, comedys this your movie.I can't wait to buy it.
This was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. It was funny, clean, and something I would not be ashamed to show anyone - that cannot be said of most movies these days. Added to this, my niece, Marianne Jenkins, worked as a unit manager on the movie.
These days when teens are portrayed as sex-crazed smokers, drinkers and druggies it was nice to have an interesting feel-good movie to take my young daughters to. Good music and Amanda Bynes is an appealing teen. But I will admit the reason I went was to see Colin Firth! Definitely what this girl wants!
O my gosh Oliver James is the hottest actor EVER!!!!! I luved this movie sooooo much. He is such a cutie and Amanda Bynes actually played a serious character in this movie it was sooo heartwarming! Amanda P. 14yrs.
My Mom, my best friend, her mom, and myself all loved this movie. My brother and my friend's brother, on the other hand, didn't 'get it'. Making me think most guys wouldn't. But almost every girl out there will LOVE it!
I watched What A Girl Wants thinking it might be just another teen movie. I was pleasantly surprised! Although I picked this movie specifically for Collin Firth, I enjoyed every minute of it. The language was exteremely minimal, if any, the acting was great, and best of all it would appeal to all ages. I'm 36 and I loved it. It had a great blend of romance, comedy and drama. I definately recommend it to any one who enjoys Cinderella-style movies, but Collin Firth fans will LOVE it, simply because of how incredible he looks in this movie. His chemistry with Kelly Preston is amazing!
What a Girl Wants is a fantastic family movie. Collin Firth and Amanda Bynes work so well together!
I rented this movie with a friend because I had rented everything else I wanted to see. I didn't think I'd enjoy it but we intived a bunch of people over the next the next day becuase we loved it! Amanda plays a girl trying to find out who she is and what she wants to do with her life.A True story about finding yourself. Also The Songs were amazing!
I loved this movie! Every time I watched it, even if it was only the ending, I cried. The part where Daphne's dad comes to New York, at the wedding, and tells her I Love You, it's just so heartwarming and sad, but like happy sad, you know? I thought Amanda Bynes did an amazing job with this movie, and so did the rest of the cast. Daphne and Ian(Oliver James) made a really cute couple in the movie. Oliver is just so cute! And his voice, when he sings..wow! Also in Raise Your Voice, with Hilary Duff, his voice is amazing!
this is an alright movie about a girl who travels to a new place in search of her father.
What a girl wants a great movie. It encourages you to be yourself, and pursue your dreams. I love these lessons, and I would recommned this movie to any girl, 10 and up.
