Frank Oz's comedy about a needy psychiatric patient comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but the English soundtrack is closed-captioned. The only extra feature is the original theatrical trailer. This release is sure to please fans of this film -- there is a small cult following around it -- but those that were immune to its charms during its theatrical release are not likely to be won over by this average DVD.

This is a good movie for anybody that has mental disorder. Take baby steps . by the way funny movie.
This is probably Richard Dreyfuss' best comic role ever, and certainly one of Bill Murray's best. The first time I saw it in the theater I had stomach spasms from laughing so hard and for such a long time. This is a classic role reversal comedy and one that works on several levels. Frank Oz's direction is also excellent. A true classic.
I didn't see what the other reviewer saw as so crass... This movie (except one scene with a few questionable names) is pretty tame. Not to mention one of the funniest movies ever made. Bill Murray is excellent!
What About Bob is so funny. Bill Murray is such a great actor. To Richard Dreyfuss's character, Bill Murray does a great job at portrays that one person in your life that you absolutely cannot get along with; and sometimes that person is loved by everyone else. It definitely is an uplifting movie, and is likely to get most people out of minor depression. My family and I first saw it when it came out, and we still quote it even if we go without seeing it for a few years. There's a lot of swearing, but the comedy is classic, so I'd recommend this movie to anyone. Have fun viewing!
good acting by all especially bill murray and richard dreyfuss. everyone needs a good laugh and this movie will do just that..
What About Bob? Is My Favorite Movie. I Didn't Want to Watch at 1'st, but I Loved it After It Was Over I Was Repeting Every Funny Line
This is the funniest movie I've ever seen..Bill Murray is great as the neurotic Bob, and Richard Dreyfuss is hilarious as Dr Marvin!! I love this movie.
HILARIOUS! THE SCENE WHERE HE JUMPS UP AND DOWN ON THE DOCTOR ( BILL MURRAYS IDEA OF THE HEIMLICH MANUEVER) WAS SO FUNNY I ALMOST WET MYSELF!
I have to say What about Bob is one of those movies where a patient drives his Pyscitrust crazy He drives him so crazy that The doctor hates Bob but the rest of the family loves Bob I guess I can realate to Bob I suffer from Ocd and me and my mom fight sometimes i Drive her crazy like Bob does to Dr. Leo Marvin Richard Dreyfuss does a great job in this movie I remember when he did the movie Stakeout and Another Stakeout and Bill Murry does a great job as Bob in the movie Basically this is about a patient driving his poor doctor insane To the Coo Coo's Nest!!!
Oh Ben, lighten up!! This movie is so silly and that's what makes it quite funny. Off the top of my head, I can't recall any other Bill Murray movies, but this one is GREAT. If you need to just laugh, laugh, laugh, then this is the movie for you. It's a hoot! I love 'Bob' and Richard Dreyfuss makes a great Dr. Leo Marvin. Buy it**
It is my favorite movie, too! Love Bill Murray and it is overall just tooooo funny.
This is my favorite movie! It is soooooo funny and some times very sad. Thanks 4 making this movie!
This movie started as quite amusing, with Bob always using a handkerchief between his hand and everything he touched. He talks to his goldfish, and acts very ¿far gone¿. When Dr. Leo Marvin helps him, Bob sees improvement instantly. He latches on to Dr. Marvin, contacting him when Dr. Marvin is on vacation, even showing up at Dr. Marvin¿s vacation home. Bob plans to stay at the house, and nothing Dr. Marvin does can get rid of him. When Dr. Marvin has a spot on Good Morning, America, he demands that Bob get up early and leave. Bob, of course, takes no such ¿hint¿, and, as far as Dr. Marvin is concerned, wrecks the TV show. Dr. Marvin, himself on the brink of insanity, takes Bob to a psychiatric center, and goes back to his family. Under much compulsion, Dr. Marvin returns to pick up Bob and bring him back. Later on in the vacation, Dr. Marvin¿s family throws a party for him. Bob is there, and Dr. Marvin flies into a fistfight with him. That night, he breaks into a hunter¿s shop, steals some explosives, finds Bob, ties him up near the explosives, and leaves. Bob unties himself and drops the explosives off in the house. When the explosives go off, Dr. Marvin totally loses his mind. It takes him an outburst of anger to get it back. This movie is quite crass, I thought, with the names thrown around between the boy and Bob and the jokes Bob told at the insanity ward. I was amused by the clean things Bob said, but otherwise didn¿t like the movie. Also, the plot went downhill after Dr. Marvin tried to kill Bob. It just got too far-fetched to be funny anymore. Parting line: if you¿re looking for clean humor, look elsewhere.
