Stylish stockbroker Brad Brian Van Holt, bohemian hipster Zeke Zorie Barber, and socially inept Jonathan Jonathan Abrahams get together with their married friend Eric Judah Domke every Sunday at the same coffee shop to discuss whatever is on their minds -- which usually turns out to be women. While most weeks the conversation quickly turns to a crude exchange of views on "the art of seduction," one Sunday Brad, Zeke, and Jonathan all have the same remarkable bit of news for Eric: They've fallen in love. After comparing notes, however, they realize that they are all in love with the same woman, Mia Amanda Peet. Whipped was the feature debut for writer and director Peter M. Cohen.

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Gregory Baird
This raunchy comedy from writer-director Peter M. Cohen chronicles the complications that ensue when a Manhattan trio of womanizing, best-friend bachelors -- Brad Brian Van Holt, Zeke Zorie Barber, and Jonathan Jonathan Abrahams -- find themselves all falling for the same girl, Mia Amanda Peet. Whipped is about sex, plain and simple. There are plenty of make-out scenes, and there are even more recaps, as the three men recount in oh-so-explicit detail their carnal exploits as they meet each week over brunch, using a remarkably large and vivid vocabulary of slang terms. Everything's pretty much played for laughs here, as the three self-styled studs experience a series of ever-more-humiliating comeuppances during their pursuit of Mia. But there's a sharp twist at the end that provides a satisfying and unexpected coda to this ribald romp. The Columbia TriStar DVD includes director's commentary and the theatrical trailer.
