If you prefer learning by DVD like I do this is a great place to start learning about wine and wine tasting. John Cleese does a great job in introducing different wines and explaining the varieties and variables in the wine making process. Everyday, not 'snobby' language is used. Of course, his little bits of comedy only adds to the enjoyment. He also goes over storage and wine serving/glasses. Make sure you also go over the Bonus Features cause there are some useful tips there as well!

I love wine; I love visiting wineries. I love it all: the entire art of wine making and the ambiance of the vineyard/winery. John Cleese takes us on a introductory journey into the art of wine making and tasting. He shows how the wine experience is fun, flavorful and unique. A great DVD for both the experienced wine enthusiast and the beginner. Cheers
