Nobody will ever forget Vietnam or should. It taught the American public that as Kennedy warned "we are not omniscient or omnipresent. 6 percent of the world's population cannot its will on the other percent." Yet, as few people, Kennedy supporters especially acknowledge, he was the first to send advisors and soldiers to that country forever give his imprimateur to a "bad war." It also harmed us in personal, sociological, racial, and even spiritual ways that will never be totally erased like the Civil War. This was disturbing on so many fronts that it can't be counted. Regular people turning into remorseless killers. But war is ugly and that's all it is. To quote Wifred Owen,"The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est Pro partia mori."Was this review helpful?
