This is the first of nine films Kate Hepburn and Spencer Tracy made together and what can I say- a masterpiece. Hepburn was born to play Tess, a powerful, confident, and very successful newspaper columnist. Opposite her, playing a sportswriter, is loveable Spencer Tracy whose quiet comedy and quick wit is unmatchable. While their roles would reverse in future films as far as who's got the power, it seems to fit perfectly in this one with Kate running the show. Even though Woman of the Year is almost 70 yrs old, its still very much a romantic film, showing that all it takes to melt a super successful business woman is an Average Joe with a good heart.

Woman of the year has to be one of the best movies. My favorite part is when Sam(Spencer Tracy) takes Tess Harding(Katharine Hepbrun) to her first baseball game. It is SOOOO funny!! This movie is very funny and sweet!!!
