Having grown up in close quarters with her relatives, Alice (Blythe Danner) is acutely aware of each and every little eccentricity. Somewhat incredibly, Alice has managed to become a well-rounded adult. Now Alice is engaged to be married, and she's determined to make her family look normal for her handsome fiancée (Barry Bostwick). But when her relatives show up one day early, concealing their many idiosyncrasies will be an uphill battle.
