Overview

The popular anime series Yu-Gi-Oh! makes the jump from television to the big screen with the franchise's first feature film. Yugi (voice of Dan Green) is a boy who, like thousands of others, is a loyal fan of "Duel Monsters," a card game that's sweeping the nation. Yugi joins many other players for a Duel Monsters tournament in Battle City, where they make a startling discovery -- the "Duel Monsters" cards have supernatural powers that have resurrected Anubia, an evil leader from ancient Egypt. As it happens, one of Yugi's ancestors was a pharaoh who vanquished Anubia centuries before, and now the young man and his pals must use their skills with the cards to conquer the foe once again. Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie arrived in American movie theaters in the summer of 2004, six years after the Yu-Gi-Oh! television series (and its attendant flood of merchandise) made its debut in Japan.

I really enjoyed watching the movie in theatres- i hope that the DVD is even cooler! *goes off the reserve it* I think that not only Yu-Gi-Oh! fans will enjoy this, but also those anime fans as well as people who like drama, and some wierd comedy. Although, some of the jokes and scenes can only be fully understood by fans of the show, and most people don't like how the card game is basically the whole plot of yugioh, i still think that everyone should at least rent it/ borrow it from a friend before buying it if you aren't a fan. if you are, then this movie is definetley a must buy.

THIS WAS AWESOME! if you like yu-gi-oh (or yu-gi-oh GX) then you should watch this.I like the parts with BLUE-EYES SHINING DRAGON. It starts out where Yugi finishes the MILLENIUM PUZZLE.Then everyone comes after Yugi to get the GOD CARDS.Joey holds them off, by dueling them. Then they (Tristan is with Joey) are trampled. (Seto) Kiba duels Pegasus for a way to beat Yugi's god cards.
