Yukon Flight

Overview

Yukon Flight is one of several Monogram programmers starring James Newill as Renfrew of the Royal Mounted. This time Renfrew is on the trail of the operators of a crooked air freight service. Editorial Reviews

All Movie Guide - Hans J. Wollstein
James Newell and Dave "Tex" O'Brien, the stars of Yukon Flight and other Renfrew of the Royal Mounted escapades, were later reunited in PRC's Texas Rangers series and, later still, purchased a tract of land together in the Hollywood Hills which would become the Jack Ingram Movie Ranch. In other words, Newill and O'Brien were friends off-screen as well as on and their easy camaraderie remains Yukon Flight's saving grace. As for the story of illegal trafficking across the border, this kind of B-Western action mixed with aviation melodrama had been done before and better although the climactic air fight is quite well executed considering the skimpy budget. In addition to the Renfrew theme song, "Mounted Men," James Newell also sings the ballad "My Weakness Is Eyes of Blue" and the humorous "The Old Grey Goose Is Dead," both by Johnny Lange & Lew Porter. Watch for future Republic blackguard Roy Barcroft as one of villain William Pawley's henchmen.
