Barnes & Noble - Donald Liebenson
This popular Nickelodeon tween-com is set at the oceanside Pacific Coast Academy for Boys and Girls. Zoey (former All That star Jamie Lynn Spears) is among the first group of girls to enter the boarding school. Her mischievous-but-refreshingly-bright younger brother, Dustin (Paul Butcher), also attends. Assimilation is relatively a breeze for Zoey, who serves as an anchor for her new roommates and friends. They are the usual assortment of types: shopaholic drama queen Nicole (Alexa Nikolas); cranky Dana (Kristin Herrera); science geek Quinn (Erin Sanders); wealthy, conceited chauvinist Logan (Matthew Underwood); and Chase (Sean Flynn-Amir), the platonic best friend with the unrequited crush on Zoey. A change of pace from other TV tween queens, Zoey is neither an adorable misfit, an accident-prone klutz, nor an incognito superhero. She's a good student, a good sister, a good friend, and -- considering the privileged surroundings -- admirably grounded. In the pilot episode, she rallies the other girls to try out for the boys' basketball team. In another episode, a school prank backfires, and Zoey risks expulsion rather than tell on her friends. Zoey 101 is pure escapism, a carefree world apart from Beverly Hills 90210, Dawson's Creek, or The O.C.. In this series, being stranded two hours away from a beach party with no cell phone service is what passes for a crisis. This series gets extra credit for the absence of a laugh track and the portrayal of at least one teacher as cool. There is mildly rude humor (that school prank involves a urinating statue). Zoey 101 earns these kids' highest praise: "It's not suckish."

Well to me Zoey 101 is a very maturing show about a teen girl Zoey Brooks who goes to PCA she meets a cute guy Chase Matthews has 2 roomates she gets to live her own life freedom for a 13 yr old girl when i purchased the dvd from Big Lots for just 6$ i thought hey not a bad price for a 2 dvd set with our cutie Zoey Jamie Lynn Spears therefore i watched the dvds and i really and truly enjoed it i find Zoey 101 is much much better than I Carly cause its one of those shows where Zoey is a very mature 13 yr old teenage girl which is nice cause most shows the girls are so immature but not our cutie Zoey Brooks No Way she is a grown up 13 yr old girl and thats great! wonderful and superb! Great for all the preteen and teenagers. Sweet safe story lines.

Zoey 101 has great stories that you do not have to be concerned what they might say. It is fun to watch for my 8 year old daughter and her cousins all the way through high school. (I enjoy watching it too) You will not be dissappointed and you will look forward to each new episode to see if Chase and Zoey fall in love.
