This is the story of the life struggles, joy and hope of KJ Nivin (pseudonym), author of the 12 Step workbook recovery series, that range from alcoholism to compulsive debting and sexual addiction. Nivin was born into a family system riddled with alcoholism, prescription drug addiction, sexual addiction, and compulsive pauperism. This is about the making of a sex addict / alcoholic and how growing up in his family plagued by drinking, codependency, womanizing, and atheism shaped the life of a child to relive what he had witnessed. His genetic predisposition to addiction and his out of control environment insured that he would follow the foot steps of his father. He almost followed them to the grave.


Nivin shares his 12 Step program as it developed and where he is now in recovery. He explains his 12 Step philosophy and how he integrated them into his daily life that led him to becoming a world published author and sought after speaker about addiction. He speaks about sponsorship and the importance of being sponsored as well and becoming a sponsor for those still suffering form the affects of addiction. In the beginning of his autobiography KJ Nivin presents a story of The Master and the Camel that illustrates the process of recovery and what recovery is about.

About the Author

KJ NIVIN (pseudonym) who wishes to remain anonymous has been a recovering sex addict for over 13 years, sober from alcohol addiction for over 26 years and in recovery for compulsive debting since the year 2000. He has worked the 12 step programs for alcohol addiction, sexual addiction, compulsive debting/spending, codependents, children of alcoholics, narcotics. He has sponsored many recovering people through the 12 Step process and has worked in the recovery community with their families and friends. He has a vast experiential knowledge of recovery by working for organizations like Father Martin's Ashley drug and alcohol recovery program, worked with patients outside of the facilities assigned for treatment in the United States Army Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program, and by staying sober himself. He has done so by working the 12 Steps and sponsoring others. He has been invited as a speaker to many recovery groups, Universities,TV news programs, and organizations interested in addiction.

He has authored workbooks on alcoholism, sexual addiction, and compulsive debting.
