Anglo Saxon England in the late tenth century. Unlike Brunanburh

Anglo Saxon England in the late tenth century. Unlike Brunanburh (also by this author) Ealdorman tells the story of Ealdorman Leofwine of the Hwicce only through his eyes. A man of honour, beset by personal tragedy, this first book in the series tells the story of the first six years of Ealdorman Leofwine's tenure and his rocky relationship with the King, Athelred. Highly recommended.
