    Superb Text on the Early Church

    Richardson's 'Early Church Fathers' is one of the best texts available for understanding the early Church. The reader is given an introduction to some of the most important theologians of the second century Church, a modern-English translation of their original works, and a commentary putting each in perspective and context. It is writers that paved the way for the Church's growth under Constantine, and who created the theology that would be expounded and codified at Nicea.
