    I Also Recommend:

    Needed for any Sufi library

An excellent anthology of various Sufi masters, including Rabia, Bistami, Hallaj, and 'Arabi. Explanatory notes are included with the material, quite helpful especially for some of the more complex additions. Allows for a perspective on the evolution of Sufi thought, as well as the important influence of pre-Islamic poetry on Sufi literature.
