This book seems to be a work of humor--mainly, anyway--but it's pretty dark humor, maybe even twisted humor. Death, absurdity, and loss are common themes. Although this is a collection of different stories, they seem to be tied together with an overall vision or idea, as well as the similar types of characters--common people, criminals, and just generally people who inhabit the margins of society.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and can safely say I've never read anything like it before.
