Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Joella Peterson
This title is part of the "Planet Protectors" series. In this book Trina explains how she is an Earthling (meaning she lives on planet Earth). And Earthlings are the ones who "made this Earth mess. So we Earthlings should fix it!" She then explains how Earth Day is a special day that happens every year on April 22nd. On that day people from around the world do something to help make the Earth a better place to live. There are many things to do: plant trees, save money to help animals, trade things you do not want for gently used things you do want, and do activities that do not require power. There is even an activity where Trina instructs readers how to make their own worm compost bin. With bright illustrations of cartoony kids and an abundance of simple ideas, all young readers will enjoy learning about what they can do to help celebrate Earth Day. A brief glossary, index, and list of further resources complete the book. Reviewer: Joella Peterson
