Overview

The sequel to Beyond the Big Bang, further deciphers the zodiac time capsule message showing how constellation pointers designate the center of our Galaxy and indicate a past date when an intense outburst of cosmic rays from this energetic Galactic source began showering our solar system, triggering a sequence of cataclysmic events. The book explores this scenario bringing together legends and constellation lore from all over the world that tell of a luminous and deadly Galactic center, invasions of interstellar dust, intense solar activity, global conflagration, rapid melting of the ice sheets, and mass extinctions and blends these together with modern astronomical and geological data that substantiates these frightening tales. Among numerous other topics, the book explains the purpose of the Giza pyramid complex memorial, the meaning of the ancient Minoan bull leaping sport, and the correct interpretation of Plato's allegorical story of Atlantis and the Flood.

Editorial Reviews

Armando a. Canales
The author presents one of the most amazing studies of cosmic cataclysmic cycles ever put into print. His theory explains and integrates various types of disasters such as floods and/or great temperature variations. Using ancient legends and observations he strengthens his case for a cyclic cosmos.

LaViolette's study is brilliant and is steeped in research and interdisciplinary study. His theories deserve serious analysis from the scientific community. The author provides a large amount of material for further study. The amateur [non-scientist] will want to follow up and read the sources referenced in his notes.

This work is timely as well as important. Why, humanity's well being is at stake! EARTH UNDER FIRE is a valuable addition to the literature on cosmology and earth changes. Fantastic reading!
The Critical Review
Nexus
The Earth has undergone many cataclysms in its history, but human civilization has been around long enough to witness only a few of these. Records of major and minor cosmic events have survived through the ages in myth, art, architecture, in ancient zodiac systems and in writing.

But what if some of these records point to a common cause of a cyclical nature. This is just what physicist Dr. Paul LaViolette suggests in Earth Under Fire, the sequel to his 1995 tome, Beyond the Big Bang.
Dr. LaViolette concludes that these catastrophes of greater and lesser degrees are the result of eruptions from the center of our Milky Way galaxy. He points to radio telescope observations showing that the galactic core (Sagittarius A) has erupted 14 times in the past 60000 years, with about 80% of these outbursts occurring within 500 years of each other. Citing the ice core beryllium 10 record as evidence, he argues that Earth has not experienced a large core "superwave" outburst for 11,000 years and, as it's been around 700 years since a minor event, we're overdue for more activity from the galactic center--but astronomers can't say when.

Integral to Dr. LaViolette's Earth-shattering thesis are his discoveries about warnings encoded in ancient zodiacs, in Plato's story of Atlantis, in the Sphinx and the Temple of Dendera in Egypt. But these records don't say exactly when such cataclysms will occur in our future--only that they come around with regularity.
