Tavia Michaels has discovered that she’s an Earthbound—a fallen goddess with the power to remake the Earth—and that a rival faction of Earthbounds, the Reduciata, has created a virus that is literally wiping swaths of the planet out of existence.
Tavia is captured and imprisoned before she can act on this information, along with her eternal lover, Logan. Huddled in a claustrophobic cell, they lose track of the days, their attempts to escape proving as ephemeral as Tavia’s newly gestating powers. But then Tavia and Logan are mysteriously rescued. . . .
They’re brought to the underground headquarters of the Curatoria, another group of Earthbounds that Tavia doesn’t fully trust. There, she’s told that she can save the Earth before it disappears. She agrees.
Tavia quickly realizes that she isn’t like other Earthbound, and as her abilities continue to awaken, they begin to threaten her centuries-long relationship with Logan. When Benson—Tavia’s former best friend and romantic interest—appears at Curatoria headquarters, Tavia will again have to make a choice about who to be with even as she tries to stop the virus that is destroying the world and uncover the truth about the two Earthbound organizations that have her tangled up in their webs.
Gr 9 Up—After discovering in Earthbound (Penguin, 2014) that she is a fallen goddess with the power to remake the Earth, Tavia is imprisoned along with eternal lover Logan by a rival faction that is set on destroying humanity with a virus. Mankind's fate hangs in the balance. A tense read that will leave fans of the series eager for the next book.
Following Earthbound (2013), Tavia’s missing memories hold the key to saving the world.Reincarnated goddess Tavia has found the boy/fellow Earthbound that she’s spent her past lives loving—a good thing, as they needed to reunite to “resurge,” or recover their full powers and renew their immortality for another set of reincarnations. In a slow start, before Tavia can make progress with Logan, the Reduciata capture them. Attempting to escape, Tavia discovers a dangerous special ability—just in time for the Curatoria to rescue them. Though long suspicious of the Curatoria, Tavia accepts their help in triggering Logan’s memory, in return helping the Curatoria’s leader in his quest to cure the Reduciata’s virus. In addition to ravaging the human population, the virus has made its way into the Earthbound population, with catastrophic implications—a Transformist, Tavia’s the only one who can stop it and save the globe’s population. At the same time, she must figure out whom to trust—she’s been warned against the Curatoria’s leader, and everyone seems to be keeping secrets. Additionally, she discovers she and Logan were not the only ones taken by the Curatoria—her former love interest, Benson, returns to anchor the love triangle. The farther into the pages, the deeper the intrigue gets—revelations fly so fast in the conclusion that readers may struggle to keep up.A twisty, fun read for the paranormal faithful. (Paranormal romance. 14 & up)

Definitely a teen series. An action filled SCI FI that will keep the young reading for fun.
WOW. This one is action packed! While I felt that something was missing from EARTHBOUND, the first book in this series, EARTHQUAKE hit the spot. I really enjoyed this one! It might not be a bad to idea to skim through EARTHBOUND before diving into this vat of spun sugar. While I certainly remembered the major plot points from the first book, specific events from that time are referenced here and some of those details were a bit fuzzy for me. Pike does a good job of recapping but there are just SO MANY NAMES to remember. Be prepared for a love triangle of epic proportions. (That alone should tell you that things are NOT what they seem in book one.) I don't envy Tavia. Both of her love interests are good guys (probably?) and have her best interest at heart. (maybe?) It's an interesting decision she has to make--the boy she's fated to love or the boy she's fallen in love with of her own accord. There's not an easy answer. Turns out that who Tavia thought she wanted isn't who....oh never mind. You'll have to read the book for THOSE kind of details. :) Carve out a good chunk of time to read this one. Seriously. The action will captivate you and the mystery will make it impossible to put down. White knuckled reading is almost guaranteed. And don't let all the science make you feel inept. I'm pretty it's 100% factual. I haven't heard of one Earthbound complain about Pike not getting her facts straight. :) Count me in on the "anxiously awaiting book three" club. I'm metaphorically dying to see the conclusion!
