Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Heather Welsh
This installment of the "Wild Rescue" series finds twins Ben and Zoe Woodward working for their uncle and a top secret organization called WILD to rescue Jing-Jing, an orphaned giant panda cub. Jing-Jing is facing starvation due to the deforestation of his main food supply, bamboo, and an earthquake that damaged his animal sanctuary in China. Further endangering Jing-Jing is the fact that he has escaped the sanctuary and cannot be found by the staff. It looks like it is up to the twins to find him and return him to safety. Even with all their uncle's cool inventions to help them, Ben and Zoe will need to keep their wits about them. This mission could prove to be the most dangerous one they have ever experienced due to the hazardous conditions in the mountains of China and the aftershocks of the earthquake. Will the twins find Jing-Jing in time to save him from starvation and predators? Will they be able to return him to his loving caretakers and fellow cubs? Large font, large illustrations, and short chapters will appeal to reluctant readers. Reviewer: Heather Welsh
