The many Facinating Stories in This Book!!

This book pefectly got me to smile and sob when I was on the subway. The people around me someimes glanced me with a strange look when I was chuckling.I may have run into the most touching story, Alzheimer's, Love, and Mercy at the moment. When I read the part of the story about 100watts bulbs and socks that the author's mother in-raw always darned holes in a socks with 100-watts bulbs to give her son in-raw, I smiled pleasingly. I could feel the perfect love between the author and his mother in-raw even though the story was surely ordinary. It was much more touching me than reading some special stories due to its reality. As the story went into the end, it showed more serious situation, the disease, the alzheimer. However, it was not so sad as a whole. I nodded with some sympathy because this story didn't adorn with any fancy words or very special scene. It just let me feel love and heart. Also, there were many facinating stories about actresses, business people, officers, and so on. But, I would say that I strongly recommend to read about the author's family and sucess stories. Everybody will smile and weep at once like me in the subway!

    Outstanding

Upon opening this book, I was mesmerized by what Mary and Marciano had to offer. The 13 unique stories of individuals under varying circumstances has something everyone can relate to. For example, in the mini story Alzheimer's, Love, and Mercy, the protagonist undergoes traumatizing events based on his relative's diagnosis of Alzhemiers. The stories possess hardships which everyone can experience just by simplying reading the book. All in all, this book is definitely a polished book that I reccommend.

    East Of Tiffanys

Hi, there I am a collage student and short stories reader. Like all short stories, i had a chance to read the "EAST Of Tiffany's" which has 13 beautiful stories. Each story has a special touch that contams a plasure that consumes any reader to laugh that will linger long time. The part 1 like most "Mary Patricia and I Become Lifetime Sojurners". While every is able to find out the true love between Mary Patricia and Marciano Guerrero. Now a day it is very hard to find a true love and healthy realtionship. Being a student and short story reader, i find a true love and healthy relationship between both of them . For instant mary Patricia and Mr. Marciano discuss the statisties that more that half of the people who get married and ended up devorcing, they are seized with infinite sadness, another thing is that Mr.Marciano never comes home empty handed. He always brings fruits home for his beloved wife. As a short story reader, i would recommend "east Of Tiffany's" to any student who is looking to read short stories true love, actors, bankers industrialists and executies.

    Book thats grows on you.

Every so often a novel comes along, entertaining yet informing, created by tremendous imagination and reality. What makes this book so great, is the intervening short stories of happiness and sadness, all together in one book, the interconnected yet independent stories keeps you coming back for more and more. This is great summer reading, and yes I will recommend this to a friend.

A book written from heart with passion

Having read the book "East of Tiffany's" stories several times, I highly recommend the book: they are fast-paced and entertaining. The stories were very engaging and touching and the descriptions were so lively that at point I felt like everything is happening in front of me, so truly written from heart and the writer meant every words of it. I would definitely recommend this book to any readers outside and inside New York City and in fact anyone in this world who enjoys reading books. The book is about different kinds of people who live in lovely East Side of Manhattan and the stories are from the author real life experience. It is filled with a lot of interesting stories from real life of real poeple. It is definitely an "A" grade book and I m sure new readers will enjoy it much as I did.

I learned to love this book since the very beginning!

What make of this book so great is the capability of leaving you a life-lesson upon every single story. I did feel touched more that once while reading. So, I want to quote two lines that have been captives in my mind since. "Because Mary Patricia likes to eat fruit every day, I made it a point to always bring home an apple, bananas, grapes, or cantaloupes . . . My gesture, though, was more spiritual than nutritional -never come home empty handed". Adding "Early in our marriage I learned that Mary Patricia wished to be consulted in all my decisions, no matter how petty or insignificant. So, I made the promise to myself that not only would I consult with her, but over consult". This represents for me a really wise and lovely thought that I personally would like to use as a guideline when living with my beloved. A successful relationship is not only based on receiving but giving what you believe is important for your partner, altogether with the willingness of constantly learning from it.

    Opposites attract?

Business and love usually don't go together. In "East of Tiffany's", it shows that you CAN be successful and follow your instinctive love at the same time. The writer made a decision which his wife suggested and let go of his primary job, which helped him become even more successful. After reading this, it showed that anything can be possible if you work hard.

MESMERIZING WOULD BE THE PERFECT WORD FOR THIS BOOK!

"EAST OF TIFFANY'S" by Marry Duffy and Marciano Guerrero is a book that means so much more than just some story or book. As I flipped each page, the author's emotions are clearly depicted and gives you a sense of feeling as if you were right there experiencing the moments of the author's life experiences. One story in the book that really touched me was "The Joy of Sin and Divorce". That certain story was very meaningful to me because I have gone through similar experiences. But overall what really struck me, was the singing canary bird called Sin in the story. The symbolic meaning of the bird according to author Marciano Guerrero is something I strongly agree with. It was more than just a pet bird, it was a divine creature created by God. And the irony of this certain story is simply mind boggling, and yet it makes you want to understand a theory beyond science. This is an extremely inspirational book with powerful aspects of life experiences, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a book that will leave a statement in your mind and soul forever.

    Highly recommended !

This Book is GREAT. It has 13 unique stories in it that almost everyone can relate to. pick it up and read it any day when you feel down and your sure to feel much better about your day and life !

It has a nice mix of short stories which has themes
such as loss, disappointment, tragedy, pain, hard work, hope, happiness, true love, success in business, accounting and other areas in life. In Dog Heaven, we are reminded of the love pet owners have for their pets and how we think of them as one of our children, part of our family. Reading this story reminded me of the emptiness we feel when our pets go to heaven. In the mini story Alzheimer's, Love, and Mercy, the protagonist undergoes traumatizing events based on his relatives diagnosis of Alzheimers. I am pretty sure many people who know of someone with this disease can relate to this story greatly. Lastly I would like to say that the stories in this book not only reflect the daily beliefs and struggles that people have every day, but
they also sort of make you a little more educated and force you to think in the sense of yourself, "what would I do, if i were in this situation? " I really liked the stories in this book and would definitely recommend it to anybody !

    A fascinating compilation!

East of Tiffany is a wonderful compilation of the life experiences of a New York couple. As a native New Yorker of Hispanic descent I found that I could relate to these stories and the authors on a personal level. Of course with such an array of stories there were a few that stood out more than others. My personal favourite was 'Watching over Blue Babies'. As a mother of a preemie I swear I saw myself in Mr. Guerrero's shoes during that moment of anguish when you don't know what is happening to your child and their life may be in danger. This story also touches on the fact that we are constantly surrounded by guardian angels, which I feel is important to remember in the difficult times that we are living in. Through the depiction of all the characters and emotions, the authors have encountered, you can place yourself at the scene and see the events unfolding before you.

A quick an enjoyable read that is hard to put down once you get started!
