This book is highly recommended for those wishing to learn to read the French language. It contains a index full of words used in the stories to help expand your French volcabulary. French history and stories written by famous French writers are also included.

I was so pleased to find this book! It starts with the basics which was helpful since I haven't practiced french in many many years. It was so nice having a dictionary in the back so I didn't have to always carry a separate one around with me when I took it outside my apartment. I would have liked a little more spacing personally because words and phrases that I couldn't remember I would write in the blank spots. There is a answer key in the back of the book for the exercises but not for translating the stories. I definitely enjoyed learning from this book and only wish that they continued into more advanced series after completing this book, and as far as I've been able to look, they don't. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone trying to bring back their french skills, but you need to have basic french unless you want to be constantly attached to a dictionary.

This really starts where it should. Gives you the opportunity to learn it and retain what you learn. It is very basic, but then that is exactly what I needed. I recommend it to beginners like me.
