The first thing I wanted to make when I learned how to knit was socks. Sadly, I just didn't have the concentration to knit for a long period of time. When I saw this book I just had to pick it up because I still wanted to make socks. This book has enjoyable patterns fit for all levels of knitting. And, for those who are intimidated by working in the round, most of the socks are knitted on two straight neeles! The front of the book also covers the usuall how to knit section of most beginning knitting books. The pictures are clear and easy to follow. So, if you have always wanted to make a sock or need a new little project to keep your hands busy, pick up this book and start knitting!

excellent book for beginner knitting socks--I love the fact that you can knit on straight needles, as I have a lot of trouble on the dbl pointed ones
