Eat, Drink, and Weigh Less offers a medically sound, extremely effective program that shows people how they can lose weight by adding delicious food to their diet and making simple changes in what they eat throughout the day. It's flexible and adaptable--and it really works. It features a powerful way to chart your progress called the Body Score. The more you raise your Body Score, the more you will lower your weight! A quiz at the beginning of the book helps readers determine their Body Score; the chapters that follow explain easy dietary and behavioral steps readers can take to improve their scores.
While the concept is simple, the science behind it is not. It represents years of top research conducted by Dr. Walter C. Willett, the head of Harvard School of Public Health's Department of Nutrition, including the famous Nurses Health Study. This study scored each of its over 84,000 participants on food choices, exercise schedule, and body mass--resulting in a number that accurately determined the nurses risk of heart disease.
Now, for the first time, Dr. Willett has teamed up with mega-bestselling cookbook author Mollie Katzen to adapt a similar, much easier scoring system to create a user-friendly diet plan with fail-safe results. If you can raise your score, you will lower your weight--all while eating delicious, easy-to-prepare foods.

I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to lose a significant amount of weight. The doc told my husband he had to lose 20 lbs and recommended this book. That was 5-6 weeks ago and he has lost 14 lbs! This book has very good, common-sense advice, very flexible plans, guides for eating out and EASY recipes. I do not like to cook at all but I was able to follow this plan to help my husband lose weight. Basically, it's LOTS of veg's and fruits, (high fiber), lean meat, avoiding refined carbs, and smaller portions all around. One thing I don't like is that he doesn't talk about salt that much; the recipes don't list how much sodium or how many carbs are in them. And also, it's not working for me; I only want to lose about 5 lbs., and those are really hard to come off. As I said, for someone who needs to lose 10 or more, this book is great. It's also just a healthy way to eat even if you don't need to lose weight.

This is the best cookbook, nutritional guide and factual based information on food that I have ever read. Not only do you actual lose weight, you eat extremely healthy and cook some of the most fabulous dishes that you couldn't even get in a 5 star restaurant. And the recipes are so easy. It is a practical, delicious path to truly making lifestyle changes with food and loving it!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
