This is a fantastic resource for the family. Obesity is becoming a huge problem in America today and it is really sad - what we do and don't eat is the major cause of that and it seems to be highly family related... parents definitely set the example. I was excited about this book because I was looking forward to going through it with them and hoping that it would really open their eyes to the importance of eating right. The book seems to be written more for parents than for kids though, which is fine, just not what I was expecting. I still plan on using the information in it, just maybe not in the way I was thinking I would. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. In today's world of packaged, prepared and enriched foods designed to simplify lives and allow you to spend more time with your kids it's becoming common place for kids to suffer from malnutrition, allergies, obesity and other diseases. How do you navigate the world of healthy eating as a parent or expecting parent these days? Dr. Don Colbert's book Eat This and Live! For Kids is an excellent resource to help you get started. This high quality, easy-to-read book provides you with easy tips and recipes right from conceiving children through to their teenage years. It should be a staple book in the home of every parent, teacher, and cook!
In this book, Dr. Colbert talks about everything from the importance of doing a detox before trying to conceive children, how to introduce foods in the first few months of an infant's life to reduce gastro-intestinal issues, and how to get your older children to eat and like their vegetables! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will be sharing it with the parents in my life! I will also be using some of the techniques to get my boyfriend eating a few more vegetables as well!
