Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

“ETNT is one of my favorite books ever-the original [Eat This, Not That!], and everything [Eat This, Not That! book] that's come out after. It's just so smart. You give people such easy ways to make tiny little choices that add up to [losing] 10, 20, 30 pounds.... Such a brilliant concept.” —Rachael Ray

“Thank you for freaking everybody out!” —Matt Lauer Today Show

Eat This, Not That! Is for lazy, lazy, lazy people like me! It was so easy to understand. If it weren't for ETNT's straightforward clarity about how food is made and packaged, I don't think my weight loss attempt would have worked.” —Ginger McNeely Felice

“The book, Eat This, Not That! by Men's Health editor-in-chief David Zinczenko, has become one of the hottest selling nutrition guides in book stores.... The comparisons are always interesting and often surprising” —NewYorkTimes.com

“This book is a great way to educate people about making healthful decisions at restaurants, the grocery store, vending machines. These are realistic changes people can make to save hundreds of calories.” —Dawn Jackson Blatner, spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association

This is a great addition to the Eat This, Not That series. It's got all the foods that you think are healthy but aren't and how to avoid them. I liked the way it was organzied and told you exactly what you should or shouldn't be eating.

This book is an eye opener for anyone who wants to lose weight or take their health seriously. It was informative in the extreme with a sense of humor so it was not a boring read. The book does not tell you that you should not eat at fast food or regular restaurants. It gives you alternatives that are a healthier choice on the menu and lets you know what is the worst. I did wish that they had more chain restaurants in its selection but it is still pretty comprehensive in its choices. Pick it up! Read it! Be shocked by what you find! Use it!

If you live in a large city and have access to farmer's market and whole food stores, this book is probably not for you. However, if like the majority of people you live in a small town or a suburb, this book gives excellent guidance for those "fast food foods" to eat and those to avoid. It would probably be especially useful for parents with children who just HAVE to go to Mickey D's, those who are on the road a lot and have to deal with "travel food," and those students (and others) who would just like an easy, healthy night out once in a while.

Although we are trying to avoid eating out (bad on the wallet and the waistline), it is nice to know I or we need a quick fix we have choices. H

This is a great guide to use for eating out at restaurants as well as being one the "best of the worst" listings for helping to understand how to modify your eating. I find this is a very useful tool for increasing my knowledge about avoiding the pitfalls of eating out. I strongly recommend its companion guide, Eat This Not That Supermarket Survival Guide. This is a must have for finding the best nutritional values during your grocery shopping.
