This is a very effective story. It exposes truths we don't really want to face. If you're human, you probably should read this and think about which character you are. I found a little of myself in all of them. Yeah. Disturbing.

I cannot believe the man did nothing! Of course you would have to read the story to know what I am talking about, but if you have a weaker stomach for hate, please judge this book by it's cover! It was a good book, but just plain sad and even upsetting at what society has to offer at times.

Overview
"To sin by silence when we should protest makes cowards out of men." Most people know what they'd like to do when confronted with violence, but what really happens when they come face to face with the worst society has to offer? In this short, powerful story, when a man witnesses a hateful, homophobic bashing on the subway, his response might hit a little too close to home for some of us.This story was first published online at Velvet Mafia and appears in the print collection, Attractions. It is offered here as an example of Steve Nugent's vibrant storytelling at its best.
