My mom is an excellent cook and gardener. At age 84 she's also undergoing chemotherapy for a second round of cancer. I also bought her the Betty Crocker cancer cooking book, which is also good, but my mom strongly favors this book and refers to it very often. This book is well organized, breaking down what foods are best tolerated and liked at the various stages of chemotherapy. What's more, the authors do not try to be trendy, understanding the need for 'regular' foods. The book has lots of suggestions and easily prepared recipes. Anyway, since it's the favorite book of someone who is both a great cook and a cancer patient, I recommend it strongly.

This is a wonderful cookbook. I used it constantly during my 6 months of chemotherapy, 2 months of radiation, and still use it 2 years later. Each chapter is filled with very helpful information as well as nutritional tips from an oncologist. The recipes are easy to prepare and delicious!

I am a cancer survivor! This book contains info. to help you through nausea, fatigue, constipation, weight loss & the many other side effects of treatments. The recipes are divided by subject so it's easy to look up a recipe based on a simptom you are having. My favorite recipe is the 'Almost Better Than Sex Cake'. It is delicious! :) Not only does it give you recipes, there are suggestions in the beginning of each section to help you cope with the side effects. This is a fantastic book for those of you fighting the good fight & defeating cancer! P.S. There's also a section for the caregivers too - Thank God for all of you! Blessings to all and may God's healing hand touch and heal each one of you!

I originally bought this book because my father had cancer and I am not the best cook. However, I use it all the time now for my entire family. They love the recipes and they are quick and easy to prepare. I just gave the book to a friend whose mother was diagnosed with cancer but I told her she can use it for the whole family. My friend really appreciated the cookbook and it was a nice thing to give someone whose family member has cancer. It is great! You can't go wrong.

This has become my favorite cookbook -- not just my favorite cancer cookbook. I wasn't much of a chef. But this book has easy, delicious recipes that I enjoy making as well as eating. I also cook for my family and friends using this cookbook, and they love everything I've prepared so far. On a practical level, its spiral binding also makes it easy to keep propped up and open on the counter. Highly recommend, especially if you're not much of a cook. This will inspire you to start!

My doctor put me on a high protein diet, but I do not like meat! The recipes I have tried (with meat) have been deliious, my husband loves them too! This week when we did our grocery shopping, we planned our menus from this book! This cookbook will be around long after the cancer's gone!

This is an EXCELLENT book! It discusses the symptoms of cancer and the side effects of the treatments, and then presents the foods that will help the patient through the various stages. The recipes are simple and the writing is well organized and easy to read and refer to when you need it. There is even a chapter for the Caregiver - and how they also need to take care of themselves. Both my Mom and Dad went through cancer and the book was invaluable to us each time. If you have any doubts about getting this book, put them aside. This book will be so helpful whether you are the patient, caregiver, friend or family. Best Wishes.
