    The Smart Way is to Buy a Different Book

    My philosophy on business-related books is if they give me 2 or 3 good ideas they were worth the cost. I found nothing of value in this book. The book's description misrepresents the level of information covered. It's useless for all but the most inexperienced Ebay seller. And inexperienced sellers would do much better with another title from the For Dummies series or one of Ebay's actual authorized books. Ebay the Smart way is inflated with white space and large print text. It also suffers from poor editing manifested in several typos (even Paypal is spelled wrong) and the lack of citations for the facts and statistics offered. Unlike most books on Ebay selling, the author is vague regarding his own experience selling on Ebay. Virtually every other book (even the cheap ebooks) offer at least a few pratical examples from a seller's own history. Only one specific example is provided in this book, and the author was actually a buyer not the seller. It left me wondering just how much experience (if any) the author's had selling on Ebay. Sellers new to Ebay would be better off with a more comprehensive volume (this book just has a lot of pages). Experienced sellers will find more value in books such as the dubiously titled but well-written 'How to Make a Fortune Selling on Ebay' and the O'Reilly book on practical Ebay hints and tips.
