"A rush of romance will sweep you away in this hauntingly mystical read. I'm already as addicted to Daire and Dace as I was to Ever and Damen!" –Justine magazine

She inherited a magical destiny—and a mission to stop a powerful family of dark sorcerers. She never expected to fall in love with one of them.

There’s still so much Daire Santos has to learn about being the last Soul Seeker….and about herself.  As her magical training becomes more intense, so does her relationship with Dace.  But when she learns that his connection to the evil Richter family goes far deeper than she ever imagined, she begins to question if love really can conquer all.

Dace is painfully aware that he wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the Richters’ dark magic—and now his brother Cade is determined to use his love for Daire against him.  Dace is willing to sacrifice anything to protect the girl he loves —including his own life.  But will Daire allow it?  And what if defeating Cade costs not only his life, but his soul too?

Enchanting, haunting, romantic, Echo is the second book in the Soul Seekers series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Alyson Noël!

Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

First, the good news: Sixteen-year-old Daire Santos has saved her grandmother's life. Then, the bad: Daire and her love bud Dace must now battle a nefarious band of dark sorcerers and soul-stealers. What began as a deadly skirmish in a small town in New Mexico has become something that now threatens a much wider world. A fittingly feverish sequel to Fated.

From the Publisher
Praise for Echo and the Soul Seekers series by Alyson Noel

"Daire and her boyfriend Dace are back to restore the balance of good and evil after saving her grandmother and her soul. Dace is deliciously yummy, and if I say so myself, so is his evil brother Cade. It's a bit more fast paced than Fated was, and it's setting up the series to have longevity. If only it wasn't so long again until the next installment!"—Night Owl Reviews (4.5 Stars- Top Pick!)

“Noël uses her New Mexico setting to weave in Native American mythology such as spirit animals and skinwalking. An intriguing story.” – Kirkus Reviews

“Daire and Dace's chemistry is intense and sizzling. Whenever they are by each other, sparks fly.  And the other characters add flavor to this highly addictive read.  I couldn’t put this book down!” –Young Adult Books Central

"Alyson Noël paints a magical New Mexican landscape." –New Mexico Style

"Noël does a terrific job of slowly unspooling secrets and motivations with writing that is both charismatic and spunky." –LA Times

"A rush of romance will sweep you away in this hauntingly mystical read. I'm already as addicted to Daire and Dace as I was to Ever and Damen. Next book please!" –Janet, teen reader from Kentucky for Justine magazine

"An adventurous page-turner. Dreams and reality bleed into each other in this dangerous and edgy romance. Another home run series for Alyson Noël!" –Anna, teen reader from NY for Justine magazine

"Emotional, fast-paced, romantic. I love Alyson Noël’s lushly descriptive writing –I could hear the beating of the crow’s wings, feel the blue-eyed boy’s embrace and smell Paloma’s coffee in this new Soul Seekers series." –Catherine, teen reader from Florida for Justine magazine

"With fantastic characters and an amazing plot, Fated will suck you in and leave you breathless. Noël is a master with words…with passion and thrills around each corner, this book is a must read." – Romantic Times (Top Pick!)

"Atmospheric and enjoyable...Noël's many fans will be eager to find out what happens next." –Publishers Weekly

"Readers will feel the pull of Daire's quest just as forcefully as Daire herself does, and will count the days until the release of Echo." –Shelf Awareness, Maximum Shelf

"A fast and enjoyable read...with some very unique plot twists and balance among the romance, conflict and family relationships." —Deseret News

"Two boys, one light and one dark, factor heavily into the intriguing, twisting story line, which is sure to draw Noël’s numerous fans." –Booklist

"Another captivating series from Alyson Noël. Fated did an excellent job setting up everything for the next books in the series. …I’m really looking forward to seeing where this series goes!" –The Story Siren

"Fated reads very well and the descriptions set the scene perfectly. Noel takes the time to set the story up right so it never feels rushed or that any details were missing. …I’m glad there’s not too long to wait for the sequel – Echo is due out in November of this year."—The Reading Date

"If you're looking for a new series to get stuck into "The Soul Seekers" is out of this world." –Dark Readers

"I found myself unable to put this book down, completely captivated by the narration and the beautifully crafted world. It was a refreshing YA fantasy with new elements I’ve never before." –Love, Literature, Art and Reason

"A superb thriller. The key to this absorbing tale is the heroine who makes the Noël mythos seem genuine as she enters the underworld while wondering who she can trust. Filled with twists, this is a winning opening act." – Alternative Worlds

"This book has it all—magick, spookiness, cute boys, a little romance, danger, fun and light-hearted moments, some mystery, and there's even good/evil twins (cute ones, too!) What more can you ask for? I am very intrigued by this new world that Alyson has created, and I cannot wait to read more about Daire and her friends in the future." –Once Upon A Twilight

"Noël has surpassed all of my exceptions with a new world filled with magick, trust, and love. . . . It just mesmerizes me how [she] can create a world filled with fast-pacing, heart-breaking plots along with awesome characters and such a magical world."—Cover Analysis

"I loved this book. All the characters were beautifully developed including some of the minor characters. . . I for one had high expectations of this book because of Evermore and Fated defiantly met those standards." —Flamingnet

"The world-building in Fated is fantastic. …The plot is amazing and the rich Native American history along with the supernatural elements of the book, just made it even better...Fated is a story of pure magic—breathtaking and wonderful, all at once." —Kindle & Me

"Fated was absolutely original in its own way! From the vivid descriptions to the spiritual world the author, Alyson Noël, has cleverly created, I was so intrigued and stunned by this book that I can't wait to see where Noël takes this series to because she sure as hell has a winner right here!" —Tales of the Inner Book Fanatic

"This novel is something different than anything I've encountered. Fated has a rich mythology, full of spirit animals, spirit journeys, fate, soul-seeking, and of course, good and evil." —Thirteen Days Later

VOYA - Lindsay Grattan
The second book in the Soul Seekers series begins with Daire Santos and her boyfriend, Dace, working to figure out how to keep the evil Richters, a family of sorcerers, from corrupting their small town in New Mexico and beyond. Daire learns from her grandmother, Paloma, that she is a Seeker, and it is her destiny to use her inherited powers to destroy evil. One problem standing in her way is that her boyfriend is a split soul, and it is his twin brother, Cade, who they must battle against, as Dace is the good part of the soul and Cade is the evil part. To complicate matters, Cade reveals to his brother and Daire that Dace is the Echo of him, which means that the twins have the ability to feed off of each other’s powers. The more good Dace does, the more Cade can use that energy to do evil. The fictional town of Enchantment, New Mexico sets the stage for this engrossing tale of good and evil, magic, love, and sorcery. Daire is a worthy heroine, and makes her way between the otherworlds fearlessly. The suspense of the story primarily lies with the split soul of brothers Dace and Cade, and the reader will eagerly anticipate the way this situation resolves itself. Will good overcome evil? What sacrifices will need to be made? The author draws the reader into this conflict with ease, and deftly weaves modern-day life--cell phones and teenage angst--with ancient customs and folklore. This is a wonderful recommendation for readers of fantasy. Ages 12 to 18.
Kirkus Reviews
Far more romance than paranormal, this second installment of the Soul Seekers series finds its supernaturally endowed young couple struggling to gain enough strength to defeat their demonic foe. Daire loves Dace, despite the fact that Dace is the twin of the completely evil Cade. Dace qualifies as a love interest because his soul is the polar opposite of his brother's. Daire's grandmother continues to teach her how to be a paranormal Seeker; now that Daire and Dace are 16, their powers are emerging. Together and separately they fight, usually losing, against Cade, who is corrupting the Lowerworld, where spirit animals live. As Cade has the ability to transform into a fearsome demon that Daire and Dace insist on fighting before they are remotely strong enough to win, the Lowerworld seems doomed. Despite the paranormal window dressing, this is a full-on romance novel, utilizing standard conventions of the genre. Virtually every character possesses an odd name. Sex scenes steam. Emotional hyperbole runs rampant. Noël's sentence fragments and one-line paragraphs stand out most, rendering her writing clichéd to an eye-rolling extent. When written in common English usage, however, the narrative flows. Noël uses her New Mexico setting to weave in Native American mythology such as spirit animals and skinwalking. An intriguing story, but for confirmed romance fans only. (Paranormal romance. 14 & up)

    Just WOW!!!!! <3

When I finished this book tears just started rolling down my eyes. I swear if Daire and Dace weren't any more perfect for each other, and just to have all gone in an instant is just to heart-breaking. And if I didn't love my nook enough as it is, I wish I had the actual paperback book with me just so it could be thrown at the wall over and over again. And with that said waiting for the next book is just unbearable!!!!! Especially at the end in the epilouge in Dace's chapter ( That when the tears really started rolling)

    I Also Recommend:

Oh my God. Oh my God. That was literally the only thing running

Oh my God. Oh my God. That was literally the only thing running through my head when I finished the book. If you thought that this book was going to answer all of the questions Fated left, you were wrong. It answers a lot of those questions, but leaves countless others in its wake.
Daire is still stubborn and thick-headed, but everything she does is with good intentions. Dace does everything with good intentions too, but most of the times I wanted to beat his head and tell him that he was wrong!
In Fated, most of the time it was Daire's head I wanted to beat for all of the choices she made, but in Echo it was obvious she grew and matured. Her choices were better and she had a better grasp on her powers and purpose.
On the other hand, Dace seemed to make more mistakes and choose the worst option, and one of his choices specifically left me screaming at him NOT TO DO IT. Did he listen? Of course not, he's a character in a book. But still, I wanted him to see the mistake he was making and not make it.
Cade is still a complete and total jerk, but we see more of him here and more of his motives, etc. He's the antagonist and I hate him, especially for what Dace decided to do because of him.
There's a lot in this book, just like with Fated, that confuses you until the last second. That's great, because it left me turning the page to figure out what the heck it meant, but it was also frustrating because it kept me turning the page to figure out what the heck it meant.
And the ending. OH MY GOD, the ending. What? What?!?! I am impatiently waiting for the third and final book in the series, Mystic, to see what's going to happen. Because, seriously. The ending is going to shock the pants off of you.
I recommend this for people who enjoyed Fated (duh) and who love strong-willed heroines and love that you just can't help put your faith in. Oh, and evil and action and magic and a bunch of other stuff that leaves you with your mouth hanging open and shut like a fish.

    Echoforest

She waits hopefully for a mate. She turned her head. Brightfate! Did you find anyone? Echoforest asked hopefully. Her sister brightfate sighed. Maybe. Echoforest looked worried. What? Brightfate asked. I think someones watching us. Echoforest said worriedly. Fine. We will shapeshift so no cat can understand us. Brightfate told her. Okay. Echoforest said. Brightfate and Echoforest turned into white tigers.

A Great Bridge in the Story!

A prophecy must be fulfilled, and although open to interpretation, someone must die. Daire is convinced that her generation of Seekers is about to face things far worse than any Seeker before her as the strength and cunning of the Richters and their demon minions grows and evolves. Cade’s evil grows, his madness is dark and menacing as he uses the love Daire and Dace share as a weapon against them. Alternating chapter POVs between Daire and Dace, the story becomes more intense, the full horror deepened and gives insight into the plans they each secretly harbor to save the other from the destruction. Will Cade finally win? What lengths will Daire and Dace go to to save the world? Are they strong enough to see the prophecy through to the end? Are their versions the same?
<b>Echo</b> by Alyson Noel starts off quickly, but slows down to build more on the story, introducing new characters, new twists and deepening the romance between the two main characters as they learn the potential joys and pains of love. Daire’s growth makes her more likable; while Dace continues to be a source of goodness until he decides the only way to beat his evil twin is to become more like him.
Will Alyson Noel let her characters meet their demise or will they put their own spin on the prophecy? With her signature style, the twists become too many to unravel until that final moment, that final battle and then…the snow that rarely falls in new Mexico begins, is it a sign?
<b>Echo</b> is a welcome addition to the Soul Seeker Series. I received this review copy as part of the Horizon/Soul Seeker Review Tour and Giveaway stopping at Tome Tender November 8, 2013 in exchange for my honest review.

    LOVED but...

Loved the book series so far. Great job on the detailing of the emotions that both Daire and Dace go through when they are near eachother. There was one part I just didn't like. One being that at times I felt like you were trying to finish the veiw of one character in a hurry to get to the veiw of the other. Other than that, I loved the book!

    Breathtaking, Beautiful, Captivating...

I have always loved the way that Alyson Noel writes, but her talent truly shines in this addition to the Soul Seekers series. The writing is wonderful, and the magical story line continues. My only slight problem was that I wasn't the biggest fan of how each chapter began switching perspectives from Daire to Dace, but other than that, it was wonderful!
