All the Ed Emberley drawing books were favorites of my son (now 29, pushing 30). When I mentioned them at a family dinner with my 5 year old grand-niece, he said that these were books that she would definitely enjoy. As I am that aunt that only buys books as gifts, I now have several more selections to add to the Wish List for her. These are great books for any child who even has just a passing interest in drawing. The instruction is so basic and easy to follow. I am glad that most titles are still in print. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
I got this book for my soon-to-be first grader because her teacher introduced several Ed Emberley drawing books to the kids in kindergarten.
Mr. Emberley shows readers how, with nine simple shapes, they can easily draw many, many different pictures. The step-by-step instructions do not require the artist to be able to read words and they are very easy to follow. In this edition, he shows artists how to draw various people, animals, plants and modes of transportation.
I feel this book is a great reference and positive addition to my six year old's library and I would definitely recommend it to other shoppers.
